My MoP Talents Choices

My Mists of Pandaria Talent Choices

This is why I’m not all that excited about the talent changes in the Mists of Pandaria expansion. Given the way I play, these are my choices, for every character from here on out.

Now admittedly I don’t vary my talent choices much right now, but at least I think about it sometimes.

Sure, but that’s the *beauty* of the new talent system – you have a very particular playstyle (i.e. pet-focused solo PvE), so you can make choices that favour it within your preferred spec (i.e. BM hunter).

A raider or PvP’er, or someone that likes to be really effective at kiting or having multiple CC options available, or having more control over their resources can make different talent choices, while remaining a BM hunter.

(I admit to being surprised you chose the extra poison damage over the increased Focus regen from Arcane Arrows. I guess if you find yourself focus starved when MoP comes out, it won’t be hard to switch)

For myself, the possibility of adding Wyvern Sting and Transmorph trap to a baseline Freezing Trap that is apparently going to once again allow double trapping… O.O Holy PvE CC monster, Batman.

I only find myself focus starved when I remember to hit the buttons, but extra damage helps me either way. That’s the same reason I’ll go with Thrill of the Hunt – because it’s the only passive choice at that level. I don’t need more buttons; I need less buttons.

To be clear, I’m not saying that the new system is awful – just that I’m not excited by it. I was able to make choices that favored my very particular playstyle within my preferred spec with the old system, too.

The one good thing, I guess, is that I’ll spend less time putting the points back in when they reset them every patch. :)

I’m just excited at the idea of being able to use Wyvern Sting and Readiness as BM. I wonder if Transmorph Trap will work on beasts as well; it might be helpful with certain problem tames.
