Mists of Pandaria: Ferocity Bears

During the Class Talent panel at BlizzCon today, Blizzard revealed that in the next expansion (Mists of Pandaria, aka MoP) hunters will be able to choose the pet talent tree – Cunning, Ferocity, or Tenacity – for each pet. In other words, you can have a Ferocity Bear or a Cunning Cat or … well, whatever else you like.

Now this came up as an aside while they were discussing the changes to the hunter talents and it’s not entirely clear how this is going to work out exactly. But I guess we’ll find out!

I hope Blizzard is aware of the fact – if they change this and do not change pet family-specific spells, that this will force us into single pet again. Well at least “us”, BM hunters. I hope you already know the pet I am talking about. Yes, the Worm. Super-strong AoE + ferocity family? Where can I sign? Well, they rather should give us (again, that means BM hunters) some viable AoE attack instead, right? (Some form of “Your pet jumps from target to target in 5yd range giving single ‘claw’ damage to each enemy” – like some ‘cat’ bosses in game already have, or something similar to combat rogue Killing Spree, but restricted to be only viable in AoE.)
