I made some updates on Petopia today based on information coming in from the US realms.

Starter Pet FAQ
Most pets do not get their Special Abilities until level 20. The exceptions, for some reason, are raptors and carrion birds which get theirs at level 10.

Transformed Pets
Black Crows have become Black Hawks – they changed from Carrion Birds to Birds of Prey.

Mottled Worgs from Silverpine Forest have become Rabid Worgs and changed from the basic Black Worg look to a Diseased Black Wolf look.

(Aside: My intention is to use these posts as a change list for Petopia but I haven’t gotten the feed plugged in yet.)

Petopia has been updated for Patch 4.0.3 aka The Shattering.

I apologize to our EU readers, as well as to any US readers who intend to tame pets in the next 2 hours. If there is something specific you need to know about the pre-Shattering pets, please drop me an e-mail and I will dig up the info for you.

I really wanted to support both sets of data until the EU was up, but in the end I just ran out of time. (I knew my laziness would come back to bite me!)

And please let me know if you see any mistakes or incorrect or missing data. I know there’s plenty!

Tomorrow brings the Shattering.

(For US and Oceanic realms. I can’t find any details about the EU realms but I assume that they will get the patch later this week.)
