  1. Finally! It was so hard picking out a race and style the first time I signed up for wow, because all the characters looked like crap in their ragged clothes. I wish they’d show you a level 1 and a level 80 for reference. It amazing how much better a character can look with some proper gear on.

  2. New players are going to be complaining quite a bit when they hit Hellfire and start getting multi-coloured gear :)

@Mania – I saw a post in the hunter thread on the beta forums claiming that pet Growl didn’t cost focus anymore. Can you confirm that one?

  3. Nimizar: Interesting! I hadn’t heard about that yet (but then I’ve been out of it lately). And I believe that I can confirm.

The Growl tooltip no longer lists a Focus cost, and when I turned off all other pet abilities (on my level 10 dwarf with bear, which is about the only character I can get into the game today), his Focus never dipped.

I turned all his abilities back on and let him get Focus-starved, and he still used Growl every 5 seconds like clockwork.

Incidentally, while I was looking at the Growl tooltip I noticed that Claw (on my bear) how has grey text in the upper right that says “Basic Attack”.

I wonder if these things are the hints of the beginning of the mythical pet design pass …

  4. Sounds promising :)

I had assumed that the Basic Attack reference on Frenzy was referring to Bite/Claw/Smack, but good to have that (at least partially) confirmed.

  5. I don’t mind armor matching, let’s say when you’re doing a whole quest line to get armor, like newbie quests. But, the matching for Lich King just got ridiculous. I got an über purple chest piece, and it looked just as lame as my blue one. How depressing is that? =o( It seemed that if it wasn’t tiered gear, they couldn’t be bothered to put in new armor models.

Also, I’d like them to bring back more brightly coloured stuff. Though maybe not fuchsia and lime green together.

  6. @Noor Agree! I LOVED the Colors on the Outland Gear! and like…the Gold Swimsuit with the long gloves and the tall black and violet boots? My Mage was pleased.

Kaet (is that who it is in the pic?) looks blah. Northrend Quest gear is blah. blah. >>>GRUMP<<<<

  7. That’s pretty awesome! Maybe Blizz changed their philosophy that said low-level characters should feel bad for being dressed in a rag-tag assortment of ugly gear, just so they’ll feel better later on about getting gear that actually looks good. ;)

  8. Chanteloup: Not Kaet, just a new dwarf I rolled to check out Dun Morogh. And while she may look drab, consider that she is level 9ish in that picture. ;)
