You can now find a fairly full-featured forum for the discussion of WoW hunter pets on Petopia! Just visit forums.wow-petopia.com.
My plans: I originally started the Arcania forums attached to this blog so that you guys would have somewhere to chat when I wasn’t posting. That worked out pretty well, except that I choose my forum software poorly* and the location was a bit off the beaten path — hard to find for the average Petopia user who just wanted to know what was going on with pets. The new Petopia forums should fix both problems.
I intend to gradually retire the Arcania forums entirely. I’ll also be gradually moving the bulk of pet news to the Petopia forums (with a handy feed, of course) — I believe that will help readers find the news, make it easier to discuss the news … and also let me make this blog a bit more personal and a bit less newsy. But as I say, that switch will be fairly gradual.
Tech notes: The forums use phpBB, a free and open source forum software. I wanted to get them up and running before I did much modification, but I will be adding a custom theme, more user ranks, various third-party MODs, etc. If you have suggestions in that vein — or How To guides for other users on how to get the most out of phpBB forums — please visit the Feedback & Forum How-To forum.
* The Arcania forums run bbPress, a free and open source forum software related to WordPress. I hear that it’s coming along very nicely, but the version I installed was a beta version and not very feature-rich.
And yes, I am getting very tired of typing the word “forum”. *grin*

In using phpBB, make sure you’re paying attention to security. It’s a pretty popular piece of software, and a pretty popular target for hacking. Make sure you get software updates, make sure your mysql is well secured, etc.
Hopefully you won’t mind if we your regulars continue to monitor your Arcania as well. *Grins*
If typing “forum” too much, mix it up a bit by using the proper (or at least non-Anglicized, proper Latin) plural: “fora”. Has a nice ring to it that the anglicized “forums” does not. One forum, many fora. :)
That’s a good idea, Artificial! Although I expect I’d mistype it as ‘flora’ quite a bit and confuse everyone.
[Aside] I once ruined a relationship with a very cute guy by laughing at him excessively when it became clear that he didn’t know the difference between ‘foliage’ and ‘forage’.
“I’m hungry — I’m going to go foliage something from the fridge,” he said.
“What? Lettuce?” I said, laughing.
“What are you talking about?”
“You seriously don’t know? Are you kidding? You seriously don’t know what ‘foliage’ means?!” And I just couldn’t stop laughing.

perhaps mistyping it ‘flora’ wouldnt be so bad. It could be the flora about fauna.
