Merry Pirate’s Day!

Nyuni, Green Parrot Pet from WoW's Pirate's DayToday is Pirate’s Day in World of Warcraft.

This is a very simple holiday with relatively little content. If you log in today, make sure to talk to the Gnome Commoners you’ll find all over. They’ll turn you into a pirate for an hour. Then head to Booty Bay and talk to Dread Captain Demeza (on the roof over where the Elder stood). She’ll turn you into a pirate for 12 hours and give you an Achievement.

As I said, a simple holiday. But check out what else you can find on the roof with the pirates: Nyuni, a green parrot hunter pet.

Unfortunately Nyuni is a friendly NPC and not even tagged as a beast, but she is clearly a hunter pet. So perhaps Blizzard will consider allowing us to tame something like this beauty soon!

    Merry pirates day, Mania!

It’d be a better pirates day if the Alliance on my server hadn’t started a PvP war when they attacked the Horde Flight master. >_>

    But reguardless. YAY PIRATES.

Why oh why did I never get my rep back up with Booty Bay?! Now they all kill me, and all I want to do is dance with pirates :(

On the joyous thing that is the PVP server, I had to fight my way up to the rooftop, rez right in front of all the Horde and the Captain, click Deterrence as fast as I could, and then click-click-click to the achievement before jumping into the water to get the heck out of there.

World PVP is fun. -rolls eyes-

September 19th is actually a Holiday. It is actually called “Talk like a Pirate Day” and I know this because it is the same day as my brother’s birthday

I stood up there in my pirate costume with Aotona…oh, the tells lol! So many questions, “Where’d you get that?” etc, and so many comments, “Now THAT’S a real parrot!” :) Really made my day after having to camp that stupid bird for 3 weeks!

    @Aubri
Grats on the achievement for being a real pirate :D

My poor druid wanted to be a pirate so bad.

She learned quickly that shoe couldn’t be a cat AND a pirate. It made her sad.

Yeah, it’d have been nice if they had the buff not go away if you did like, 20 different things. I found when I zoned in Northrend in several spots that it took off the buff, I was sad. Not to mention any type of shape-shifting. /sad face

The new goblin starter zone is a bunch of islands, perhaps we’ll be getting these parrots as tameable aside from the rare already in game. I noticed there’s a goblin racer car thing in Wintergraps too maybe blizz is either throwing us hints or reusing models for the expansion.

well some of those birds are actually quite big in real life, macaws etc. if they gave em some new sounds they could be a nifty pet

I’d give up Aotona for a pretty green parrot… Or a nice red one.

Just got metamorphosis on my lock and was hoping to be a pirate Illidan, but sadly no.

And I’ll second any “boo”s to world pvp – I don’t hate myself enough to ever try playing on one of those servers. Ugh.

Yarrr! Actually it was nice having a simple, low-stress, no-grind holiday for a change. Be dressed as a Dread Corsair, dance and drink a bit, then go quest in a neat costume. A pleasant break from other “holidays.”

Ah, I was finally able to start enjoying the game again once I took a break for a while and missed Noble Garden, the Midsummer Fire Festival and Children’s Week. It made me realise that trying for the Violet Proto-drake had turned the game into a chore for me instead of something I did just for fun.

@Mania: you’re probably head deep in coding by now, but if you wander by, you may as well delete my earlier comment about the spam that you already killed :)

Hehe, I had fun with my tamed Aotina that day! She is better then green parrot, IMO <3
