Blizzard has announced the next World of Warcraft expansion: Cataclysm. The details we know so far:
- New Horde Race: Goblins
- New Alliance Race: Worgen
- New Level Cap: 85
- New character progression: Path of the Titans
- New secondary skill: Archaeology
- Guild Leveling System
- New race/class combinations.
- New monsters, dungeons, etc.
- Classic zones redone completely.
- Flying mounts can fly in Azeroth.
- Probable release in 2010
More details on MMO Champion and WoW Insider. Hopefully Blizzard will get something official up soon.
Blizzard has launched the official Cataclysm website. This website includes a listing of the features, the trailer, screenshots, etc.
[Note] I’m going to be adding information from the BlizzCon Cataclysm panel as it happens. (Not as a live blog thing, just as I happen to hear important details. If you’re looking for info, the Cataclysm website is probably your best bet.)
Much of the lore will revolves around Deathwing (who will be more involved with the players, much as the Lich King has been in the Wrath expansion). Deathwing’s violent eruption into Azeroth has broken the world and caused a great cataclysm.
The Races:
The new race starter areas are even cooler than the Death Knight starter area. There are surprises they don’t want to reveal yet, so the playable experience at BlizzCon starts at level 6 to preserve the biggest surprises. This includes ‘Wrath-Gate-like’ cinematics.
Worgen can be everything except paladins and priests shamans. Goblins can be anything except paladins and druids. We’ll learn more about the racials soon.
The World:
There will be 7 new zones, including:
- Mount Hyal
- Deepholm
- Sunken City of Vashj’ir
- The Lost Isle
- Gilneas
- Twilight Highlands (featuring Grim Batol)
- Uldum
This includes five new adventure zones for level 78-85. The new starter zones will be 1-15.
In addition, *every* classic world zone has been revamped with updated quests, art, and items. Some more and some less, in terms of terrain, but the entire level flow for players has been changed. The plan is to make each zone cover a smaller set of levels and to let players flow between nearby zones more easily.
The Sunken City of Vashj’ir is really underwater, but it won’t be annoying. When you are on the ocean floor, it will be as if you are on the ground. Then you jump up into the water and you’ll be swimming. So combat and running around on the ground will feel normal to us. In addition, there will be underwater mounts.
Dungeons & Raids:
- The Firelands
- Uldum
- Blackrock Caverns
- Grim Batol
- Skywall
- Heroic Deadmines
- Heroic Shadowfang Keep
Advancement:
Guild Advancement System: 20 guild levels, a guild talent tree (including things like cheaper repairs, less durability loss, mass ressurection, etc.) You will contribute to your guild through things you do already, like dailies.
New race/class combos: Like a Tauren paladin! And a gnome priest! And a dwarf shaman! And so on.
A quick summary of Archaeology: Players can explore ruins to make discoveries that will help them progress along the Path of the Titans.
The Path of the Titans: Talent trees will not be expanded beyond their current point. You will get 5 new talent points, but they are not adding new tiers of talents. Instead, they are introducing the Path of the Titans, an advancement choice that is not limited by class.
In addition, the Mastery System is a new advancement feature that allows Blizzard to prune the talent trees to make them more fun and interesting.
PvP:
- Tol Barad PvP Zone
- 3 Battlegrounds, including Battle for Gilneas
- New Arena Maps
- Rated Battlegrounds (and alternative to Arenas)
More Info
Blizzard has posted a summary of the information presented in the preview panel on the forums as well. It’s significantly more coherent than my ramblings above. *grin*
MMO Champion also has a nice write-up that goes into a bit more detail than what I repeated here.
Kaliope from Crafter’s Tome caught a bit more than I did about the new Archaeology skill.
Blizzard has posted a nice image of the new race/class combinations will be available. Most important to me: All races except gnomes will be able to be hunters.
Okay, I promised someone on here a free punch. To the head, to the stomach, to the tit, take your pick! I was absolutely wrong and apparently MMO Champion Is a respectable site. I’m sad, because this probably means the Horde is going through changes and I am NOT gonna like them. Cairne is doomed. Thrall is no longer the leader..-sigh- Alliance here I come.
Here’s to Blizz, everyone, and to their continual surprises. And here’s to MANIA-chan, who provides with smooth, fast updates and No charge, And of course the lovely hunter-resource Petopia. Titanspeed, everyone. I know I’m gonna be running all my low level characters through the Barrens as fast as I can. Three cheers! :D
I must respectfully agree with the honoured Ryai, myself. I am..somewhat..troubled. Which is to say I’m massively disappointed and were I not sicker than a Felpaw wolf right now , I might be more upset. All I can do is wait and play the new WoW, and quit if I don’t like it any more. Ahh well, such is life. It’s entirely possible that all these changes will rock my face off. And I can’t say I didn’t expect this after reading the new comic snip-preview-type-thing. Geuss I’ll wait and see. And Tori, congrats on the skink! So adorable, they are!
You know, one thing I’ll miss is running myself through Wailing Caverns for a full set of Fang Armor and Venomstrike when I’m leveling a new hunter. Was frustrating, but nice because I could make it last into my 40′s. Oh well, guess we’ll have to wait and see where things go from here.
Eh just realized something, if they’re bringing back Ragnaros could this mean MC might be getting an overhaul- possibly means MC Hounds could be ‘retired’ from taming?
And Yeah I’ve seen the Van Helsing movie and all other werewolf movies, it just feels from the hair atm and the faces, they’re too lionish, that’s what I mean not the bodies, the faces; even the masks that were shown way back seemed lionish to me.
Well wolves on Earth, as well as Azeroth do have rather pronounced manes. People often consider wolves to look like dogs, but full bloods have big, soft, bushy manes. So cuddly. Even if they only developed them to keep warm and so their throats don’t get bit out. Still soft! It’s only natural that wolfish humanoids have larger manes to accommodate hair, and seeing as how the mane wouldn’t be flat on the back and side, but sticking out based on the position of the head…I dunno, it seems quite right to me. When you have a wolf beside a dog, it’s easy to tell just how much more fur is there. Pity I don’t have a camera, but I’m sure google will do! -nudge-
Underworld lycans looked..erm..sickly to me. Their manes were almost nonexistent. The chap from Van Helsing I couldn’t remember clearly, but..now that I see him again, I just think…eh. -handwaggle- Yes though Ryai, the masks’ chops were rather lion-like. And the mane should be the same colour as the rest of the fur, the colour makes it stand out more(speaking of the model on the Worgen page, though it may make it seem more humanoid), but I think it’s pretty lupine. Just a few tweaks for me personally. Guess I’m being selfish. :P
Hopefully MC hounds stay, even if they overhaul the looks department. I mean, I’m mostly sure they’d still be there, eh? But I am hoping for different models. The skins are sweet, to be sure, even if the lava drooling upsets my…delicate sensibilities..but more variety in the family is direly needed. Even if they’re exotic. Here’s to also hoping for a new, enraged form of Ragnaros. He deserves more time because of his name.
i find goblin shamans kind of strange, i thought that worgen would have a much higher chance of being shaman….oh well, anyone else noticed that it says the 2h legendary axe is for HUNTERS and death knights only?
Worgen are natural choices for Druids, specially Druids of the Claw, which AFAIK, is the playable Druid class. Maybe they’ll even get bonuses for choosing the Feral tree.
Since the Goblins have sided with the Horde, what happens to all those neutral towns/cities that the Goblins maintained?
Here’s hoping for more character slots, pet slots and bank slots. :-/
Not all goblins have started with the Horde. Goblins are not a united race. They’re like the trade princes of earths past. Each prince is free to make or break his own clans agreements.
The ones that will be horde are ones kicked off their island and is caught in the cross fire of An Alliance armada blowing the crap out of a horde ship..
Already refugees, when the alliance blow up their ship, they are ‘taken in’ by the horde and _____THE ONE FACTION_____ of goblins joins the horde. Not all of them. be it family… clan… trade prince…group… whatever. It’s just one portion of the entire goblin race.
If you guys play, You’ll notice sometimes the horde fight andd kill orcs and trolls and such and sometimes the humans fight and kill humans? How not 100% of humans are alliance or 100% of orcs are horde?
Kinda like that. One group of goblins are joining the horde.
I was getting bitched at by god knows what else on my DevART journal when I proposed the theory that the Night Elves would honor Velinde’s memory and propose an alliance with the Worgen. I was told Blizzard would never do this, and was hit with the flaming torches and pitchforks and molotov cocktails both figuratively and literally within the realm of my Lore-fanaticism.
I saw the Cataclysm Opening Trailer this morning. So did a good majority of those same bitchtards. I have been paid a few thousand gold in apology fees by those on Horde/Alliance sides on Saurfang Server =D
I would like to see more of the whole bastardry surrounding Cairne’s death in the coming hours, and Garrosh’s descent into total madness by declaring a full-scale war on the Alliance.
As for the new secondary profession of Archaeology, all I can say, as a Dwarven Huntress who adored her racial ability of Treasure Hunting, is ohyesplzthankyouBlizzardOMG!
I also have an idea for Hunters. In regards to the three trees – ferocity, cunning and tenacity – and in light of more pet slots (possibly) – why not five slots for each tree? They’ve already successfully proven they can program a bag/tab that expands with every mount or non-combat pet you get, so why not that?
A veritable trove of your favourite pets at your fingertips – five different pets, all differently specced within that tree – for raiding, PvE and PvP. Granted, I don’t expect the extra slots to be given out for free, I do expect perhaps 50 – 75 – 100 – 125 – 150g scaling, or something similar.
Hunters on a whole, and I myself especially, am a bit constricted by only five pet slots for all three classes. It doesn’t quite afford you the expandability to have a few pets for raiding, some for farming and others for PvP as they once said you’d have. Some hunters are easier, others like myself are collectors. I wouldn’t mind a ferocity tab with Araga, Humar, Old Cliff Jumper, King Krush & Trachela myself…
But then, it is but a mere suggestion. And I can dream =3
Jenata I know wolves have the fur round their head/neck, I am a former discovery channel nut when Discovery Channel KNEW how to do animal specials and only recently started getting back in the swing of things, but the thing is, it’s NOT as pronounced as that and is hidden by the fact wolves overall usually have long coats- and those that don’t have long coats don’t have scruff three times the length of their normal coats it seems.
Worgens unfortunately all seem to be grey- not following their hair color. So this further helps make them look lionish. Then there’s the muzzle, it doesn’t look, like a wolf muzzle imo. I mean if anyone here plays pokemon they should know of, dear lord, the ‘great beast debate’, where there’s three sides to it. Some people claim Raikou/Suicune/Entei are dogs- others cats, and most of the neutral people say they’re mixes and move on cause one side won’t change their opinion. Infact I’ve seen people start flame wars in forums O_o
yes I iz liking pokemon. But not so much lately. Anyways.
Tbh the worgen seem to be like that; the muzzles look more feline imo, as well as the faces. The manes don’t help, while yes I know they are wolves, it just feels like a badly designed mix at the moment, facial wise.
Now if you can be more than silver-grey, and white, red, black, blonde, brown, etc [LIKE TAUREN BLIZZARD GET PICTURE. Ug.] Then fine, it’d blend in more. But it’d still be somewhat prominent as Worgen- and human cursed, seem to have the basic short furred approach.
‘I must respectfully agree with the honoured Ryai, myself. ‘ And erm um ty? XD
Tbh I don’t get why people are bashing others here- well not here but, I mean I don’t care if people want to roll a goblin or are excited about what’s happening. I mean I try not to rain on parades on purpose. But bashing people cause of their theory crafting or what not is stupid imo O_o
tho tbh I expected people to chew me for theory crafting about troll druids.
You know outside possible LETS MAKE PEOPLE PLAY MORE TROLLS approach.
Tho admitedly when I saw the nelves appear like HEY GAIS LETS BE FRIENDS, I kinda did explode. I mean naturally Alliance get something a bit more ‘plausable’ and horde gets afaik from the trailer, random horde finds goblins!
And am I the only one disturbed that THE ORCS HAD A TABARD LIKE GARROSH’S!?
*stab*
*stab stab stab stab stab*
Tho admitedly I will probably give in out of futility of it all, roll a human hunter and a worgen hunter or something else.
But only worgen if you can choose to stay fuzzy. It’s not fair cause otherwise you’re pretty much playing a human that has occasional problems with body hair.
Edit: Also btw I meant about being retired as they STAY tameable but their levels are RAISED, cause even at 70 and even 80 if you don’t know the trick someone found out to get them, you can still fail in taming.
Cause I am interested in trying to get one on my dorf hunter whenever she is lv 80ish herself.
HOOZAH! Worgen… Druids? And Hunters! Also, after looking over at MMO I see some possible new pets that might come out with this :D
Linkage!

A maybe on this thing… whatever it is

But since Goblin’s will be hunters I’m betting a Spiny Raptor won’t be too far out of the question since it’s on the Lost Isle where the Goblin’s are coming from.
Now then, time to stop spazzing over Deathwing coming out and stop spazzing over Worgen Hunters and everything else… >_>
Curse it… Anyway, it ate the beginning of the post. As I was mentioning in it. I think those could be possible new pets. That one thing… fire spitting turtle thing… I dunno, it might, it might not be… but who knows with blizzard.
So has it been confirmed Ryai and Jenata? Cairne is murdered, replaced by his son Baine… and Thrall joins the Cenarion Circle, leaving the Warchief of the Horde role to Garrosh…?
That info did originate from Something Awful, and was quoted on MMO Champion by Boubouille in the same post as the class/race/world stuff Cataclysm… but he removed it. I can’t find it any more. :(
SAVE THE PETS!
Tame the Rare Ones of interest while you can. I’m sure blizzard has Rare pets low on the priority list!
Why not Gnome Hunters? If there is any race that should be Hunters it’s them.
Worgen as druids… sounds ok, and it makes sense in an odd sort of way… as pointed out in the released lore via mmo champion, Worgens struggle to contain the “beast within”… being a druid would help in that area. I only hope their “beast” forms aren’t going to be cat themed like the traditional Tauren and Night Elf ones (at least on feral dps)…. obviously the wolf form would do for feral dps and the usual Tree form for resto spec….. a boomkin wolf (or boomwolf rather) is gonna be hilarious to look at coming from something that is part wolf … but then so was the Tauren druid boomkin with extra horns aside from the usual antlers (no offense to horde boomkins out there of cors). I’ll wonder about flight form when I get to it. Water form is drawing a blank in my head…. I have no idea what a “sea wolf” would look like….
…… a small part of me is annoyed that the new races start at level 1. Climbing back up to 80 and beyond was a challenge with and without the heirlooms… oh well, at least I can make one a DK and have him up to lvl 55 without going through the hassle of running through every little thing and re-explore the new stuff at my leisure.
Mania, since you’ve had two routers get fried… make sure you get that and your modem hooked up to a good UPS (I always get APC, Best Buy does carry them) as well as your computer.
ANy1 seen that under the race combination that it says High Elfs under allience…
Does this mean that we get highelfs as playable char too?
Refugee Goblins, I like! I’m always partial to underdogs, including Worgen ones. :P
Goblins Hunters with Devilsaur pet quote: I get by with a little help from my friend. :D
omg! so much new stuff. saw the site yesturday and went all happy and fuzzy inside.
but!
…I WILL HAVE TO KILL SOME OF MY CHARS!! D= im full on my main realm D8
well i do have 2..possible 3 lowbies i could kill off, but with all these new race/class combinations i need more room to go crazy with!
Blacksands: you do realize Worgen and Troll are NOT going to get special forms? This means no dps wolf, no tanking wolf, no dps raptor, no tanking whatever for trolls, no boomkin wolf or anything of the sort. I mean if a Troll turns into a tree, a worgen is going to turn into a tree too.
Tho these aren’t real worgen these are humans uuuug.
…
AURG NOW I KNOW WHY THERE ARE BLACK MOONKIN RUNNING AROUND NOW- don’t get your hopes up for wolfish boomkin. If those black boomkin suddenly appeared, and yes people black, and there are now WORGEN druids, you don’t have to do the math to figure out that worgen’s are gonna get black moonkins for their forums.
for their forms.
Owlkin forums, coming to a hunter near you! my typos shame me.
Ive noticed that on the class and race combination, it says High Elfs for the alliance, but as fare as i know they are not a playable race for the alliance?
I notived on the class and race combination, that Highelf are notived on the Allience side. As fare as i know, its not a playable race for us yet??
@Ryai – “But only worgen if you can choose to stay fuzzy. It’s not fair cause otherwise you’re pretty much playing a human that has occasional problems with body hair.”
Blizz said that you there’s an option to either stay in worgen form or human form, but when you enter combat you automatically change to worgen form, then after combat change back to human, unless you were already in worgen mode, then you stay worgen.
@Daginni – “SAVE THE PETS!
Tame the Rare Ones of interest while you can. I’m sure blizzard has Rare pets low on the priority list!”
Looks like I’m gonna have to do something about that. Since due to the changes to The Barrens, I’m guessing that the armored boar from Razorfen Kraul instance might be gone. There goes my dream of having an undead hunter with an armored pig. The best I can do is lvl up an ally, tame the pig, then paid transfer to undead hunter hordie when the time is right. But I’m a lore freak and want to see the new lore for the undead hunters, sooo here’s my dilemma; do I roll an ally, tame then transfer, thus missing out the lore; or wait and roll an undead hunter get the new lore, but with a very good possiblity of missing out on the armored pig? But it just doesn’t feel right to start up an ally and transfer to hordie and miss out on the lore…
But that now brings up an other problem, I’m big when it come to lore, and with the revamping of Azeroth and all the quests from 1-60, to streamline the lvling process to get to 60 quickly, I don’t know if I have enough time to start a horde toon (I’ve been Ally only), and do all the horde quests, thus getting the lore, before the changes take place. Simply because, according to Bliz, the changes will happen to everyone at once. The buying of the expac is to simply have access to the new races, race class combos and lvl 80-85 content. Everyone will wake up one day and look outside and say “Oh, they blew it up! DAMN THEM! DAMN THEM ALL TO HELL!!!”.
Hopefully the new race class combos will come out in patches instead of on the new expac.
I squealed soooooo hard. My roomates looked at me like I was crazy and called me a nerd. xDDDDD!!!!!
I’m still squealing form yesterday….
I think I’ll be squealing all week.
Blacksands:
“…… a small part of me is annoyed that the new races start at level 1. Well, Draenei and Blood Elves didn’t start at 45, or at any level above 1. Just because one *class* started at 55 doesn’t mean new *races* would start at anything 1+. I’m glad they don’t personally. It’s not like it’s the same world anymore anyways. The whole face of Azeroth is changing, it stands to reason you’re not going to see “the same old things” that you did for the past 4 years of WoW. Personally, I’ll be happy to re-experience the new “Old World”.
Nova: Me too. Me too. *squeal*
Yes, I do like that about worgen. I, personally, will most likely stay permanently in fuzzy shape. Nova! Record it for us!! :D!
Ryai-dono, it does seem to be quite the mix of leonine and lupine features, but I chalked that up to the whole half human thing. It looked cool to me, so I suppose that’s a bias right there. I attributed the short fur on the body and the wide mane to the whole human thing too, seeing as how they’d need hairstyles to cut and Blizz probably don’t want them Too fluffy, like Tauren who were quite fluffy in art. It might be hard to animate a really fluffy character, I think. But I’m not exactly a brilliant animator..or an model-worker at all, heh. Custom WC3 skins don’t count.
Agravaine: Thank you for telling me, because honestly I didn’t know it had been removed. Perhaps there is still hope for the Horde! -handshake to Agravaine-
Also Wh33ls, I firmly suspect there will no longer be any standing statues in the vicinity of Azeroth. -grin- I’m not sure if pets will even transfer at that, but they probably will. It would be ridiculous for them not to, eh?
I don’t think you have to worry about Razorfen. Honestly, Barrens has always struck me as a very diverse zone. Part of it is clearly 10-20 ish while the rest is 25-28 ish (if not a bit more) in the south. Splitting it in two is just a visual change. I don’t think they’ll be omitting RFK so the armor boars should be fine. Instead its the other Barren’s animals I’m worried about.
BUT! We can’t say Blizzard doesn’t care completely about pets. When they revamped Dustwallow Marsh, they removed alot of tameable beasts then too. BUT they did NOT remove any mobs that were unique. All the ones that were removed were skins that were able to be tamed elsewhere. Most of the Barrens is like that too. Alot of those skins can be found elsewhere, with the exception of maned golden lions (which, if removed, can only be found on The Rake then).
Yar. The only rares in Barrens that are tamable are Takk and Humar. Both Takk and Humar are nowhere near the ‘middle’ areas where things are going to get ripped apart; they’re both on the far coastal side. Also, Takk’s skin reappears elsewhere (once even as a colorchanger with blue), and Humar, if nothing else, is still available as Pitch even if you do have to wait until your 70s.
Honestly, since the normalization of cats, I’ve seen very -few- people with Humar anyway. Yar, he’s still a handsome beast, and unusual if you’re a lowbie, but most people don’t seem inclined to stalk him like they once did now that the hide is ‘perma-available’.
Hn. Echeyakee might go away though! If that quest is removed. (Also not rare, but a pita to get later…) but then again… he also might be forced out of hiding and be available to BOTH Allies and Horde for a change, so…that would be nice, imo.
Actually there’s also a rare hyena named Snort the Heckler. Hes in the northwest area of the barrens and paths along the mountains. He was my first rare caught on my Belf hunter.
<3 Hyenas
as much as i LOVE the druid class, an was accuaily going to reroll mine as a worgen >.< iv decided against it. The main point of being a feral druid for me is being able to use my cat form alot, as well as my bear…an i wanna be a worgen soooooo bad to be able to stay in worgen form :D…kinda pointless when ur stuck in kitty 90% of the time as worgen :( wont see muh of the werewolf form behind it…soooo iv decided to stop lvling my hunter (lvl 72) or at least only play her when im bored, an reroll her as the new worgen comming out :D
^^ looking forward to getting a wolf pet along with a worgen hunter, plus the worg pup mini pet <3 *squeals* i'll have my own little pack! lol kinda makes me wish i was on the RP servers :P

sesshoumaru – Don’t forget to grab the leather wolf mask from ZF! LOL
Also has anyone heard about the kinds of MOUNTS Worgen and Goblins will be sporting?
AAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH, i do not like most of the ‘Revamping’ they are doing, it’ll make it seem like ‘relearning’ to play… ugh, this only made my bad weekend worse, at least i get to go to a zoo tomorrow for fun?
Nova:
There’s pics on MMO-champion and also on my own blog (link on name) and also Warcraftmounts (Mania’s other site) has a link to it as well.
Basically the Worgen mount is a giant boar that looks kinda like half wolf/half boar. The Goblin mount is a car, designed in typical goblin fashion.
Tori, the quest line Rikaku was refering to is available to both alliance and horde, since half of it is given by Ebon Blade and the other half….some one special. The Argent Crusade feature heavily in there as well, so it’s not just a one or the other deal.
Thanks Rikaku <3
*Goes to peek*
Indy: Thanks for the advice. :> We always buy APC also. We have three in the house right now — one for my machines, one for my husband’s machines, and one for the pile of electronics in the living room that includes the router.
In fact, we couldn’t figure out at first why we were losing the router since it’s on the industrial-sized UPS, but we decided yesterday that it’s probably because we didn’t route the LAN connection from the cable modem through the UPS. We’d never bothered before, in part because it seems that the cable modem should go first if a surge comes in via the cable, but apparently the cable modem is a lot more resilient than the router.
Anyway, the new router is now on the UPS for power and also behind the UPS in terms of the net connection. We’ll see if that saves it next time. :> (Unfortunately it is also true that this rented house has the worst electrical work I’ve seen since my father rigged stolen electricity to his back shed.)
‘and one for the pile of electronics in the living room that includes the router. ‘
Makes me remember when my dad would play his atarii or whatever it was. WIRES EVERYWHERE.
Anyways since it’s been hinted at possibly tameable Zehvra, does this mean more tameables finally? Mean of old world animals.
Cause I want more than Zehvra tbh. [mean come on there's dozens of species people want]
oh god, they’re really going to put garrosh in charge and kill cairne… :(
One of the things that has been also hinted at is that Zhevra’s will be tameable in Cataclysm.
Kayb… while it does look that way, I haven’t found anything official about those rumors. The official Cataclysm lore page hints at it as something to come, but doesn’t come right out and say it. It doesn’t mention Cairne at all.
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/cataclysm/features/lore.html
Yesterday’s WoW preview panel talks about Garrosh as though he’s in charge, but I didn’t catch anything about how he gets there.
Heh, found it, straight from Metzen himself during today’s Q&A:
10:53AM How will the Thrall/Garrosh relationship play out and their interaction with Varian? Metzen: There’s a lot going on there, and I don’t want to spoil things but… come on. With the world in the state its in, what do you really think the world’s greatest Shaman would need to do? I’ll leave it at that.
http://www.wow.com/2009/08/22/blizzcon-2009-wow-qanda-live-blog/
So although they’ve let it slip that Garrosh will be at the reins, the story itself has yet to play out.
I’m hoping for some shiny cutscenes. :D
