With BlizzCon only two weeks away, rumors about what we’ll learn there are beginning to swirl frantically around the WoW-o-sphere. (Some of these are apparently fueled by carefully-tended teasers and ‘leaks’. Others are probably just made-up.)
I’ve noticed that some sites are being careful to post “spoiler warnings” when they report these rumors and teasers so that readers can decide whether they want to preserve a sense of surprise for BlizzCon itself.
I’d like to take this opportunity to be perfectly clear: I will post spoilers. I will not post spoiler warnings.
My intention is to keep up on the latest pet news and rumors as well as I can. To be honest, I rarely even consider whether or not some readers might like to be surprised later. It’s not that I think preserving a sense of surprise is not worthwhile or silly in any way — it’s just that it never crosses my mind because I’m so focused on whatever exciting tidbit I’ve just heard. I guess I’m kind of self-centered that way.
Anyway, here’s fair warning: If you read this blog over the next couple of weeks you are likely to run into spoilers. Sorry about that! *grin*
“I’d like to take this opportunity to be perfectly clear: I will post spoilers. I will not post spoiler warnings.”
“Anyway, here’s fair warning: If you read this blog over the next couple of weeks you are likely to run into spoilers.”
Is that not a warning? Contradiction FTW! :D
Nah, she means she is not going to post it during the individual posts. So it’s not really a contridiction in terms of use. She is saying it now, but stating that she won’t be saying it later.
Picky picky! *grin*
Yes, by “spoiler warning” I meant the big “READ NO FURTHER IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW” and/or “***SPOILER***” tags on an individual post.
What I posted here is technically an anti-spoiler warning. :>
(And by the way, Telepathic Indian, did you wander over from one of the other blogs I sometimes comment on? Your name looks very familiar but it’s ringing a differently-contexted bell for me.)
Hehe, my mistake, sorry ;)
I don’t generally comment on blogs very often (infact, I think this is the first, seeing as I’m thinking of leveling up my hunter (I saw the word Spoilers here and couldn’t resist having a look xD)) but I use this name everywhere (T’is my e-name)
e.g. Wowhead, MMOwned and ALOT of WoW-unrelated sites xD
WORGEN FOR THE ALLIANCE!!! That’s all I want to read. But wait that’s not Hunter related….. ALLIANCE WORGEN THAT CAN BE HUNTERS MWAHAHA!!
Actually, I love spoilers. Well, I love them on everything except cars and movies….
Woot, no more trying to get “after the break” on my pokey phone internet. I want my spoilers right there in the headline. =D
“WORGEN FOR THE ALLIANCE!!! That’s all I want to read. But wait that’s not Hunter related….. ALLIANCE WORGEN THAT CAN BE HUNTERS MWAHAHA!!”

YES :D
I forgive them for killing my baby Garwal now. Just barely.
I have that name reserved on a number of servers now too ;)
Okay, no problem Mania at all! :D :D There should be NO pet-related “spoiler warnings” anyways. We DESERVE to know! :P
I’ll keep my eyes open as well, and report to you if I catch anything before you do, Mania.
You have the name Misty reserved on a bunch of servers? Rock on :) I wont transfer off mine because I like having my real name, lol.
Glad to see I’m not the only one who reserves names. I reserve names all the time, especially on new servers. Actually had to delete some names off realms I’ll never play on (bad pop. ratio or pvp realms) cause i hit the character cap XD
/chews Alliance
haaaate. Haaaate.
Haaaaaaaate.
*chews Rikaku and Palla*
Ok not really hate but disgruntled.
AURG GOBLINS WHY. WHY. I MISTAKE FEMALES FOR MALES SOMETIMES.
WHY BLIZZARD.
I’d rather play an ogre D:
I don’t consider it a spoiler. A Spoiler, IMO, is the divulging of data that can – and many times will – ruin the viewing of or activity in a particular game, movie, or other such media that possesses a beginning, middle, and end. World of Warcraft posesses no physical ending, no true finale, and as such, no information divulged can be considered a “spoiler.”
Personally, anyone who posts SPOILER WARNINGS and/or is reluctant to give “Spoilers” infuriates me to no end. If I have the interest to look it up and not wait for and subsequently play the coming content, I WANT Spoilers! It’s the same with video games, movies, and books for me. If I’m driven enough to look it up online as opposed to simply going out and watching/reading/playing it for myself, I sincerely want to know everything I can. To this day, “Spoilers” have never affected me; if I’m told at the end of the movie the main character is impaled by his best friend, then even if that is followed by a verbatim posting of the dialogue that preceded and followed that event, I still will want to see it in action.
Garyuumaru: Yeah but then there are like the trolls who think it’s so hilarious to trick people into seeing the ending of a book or movie or game, some people don’t like it spoiled for them, and tbh there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s like christmas presents.
Some people peek. Some people don’t.
I have the name Teenwolf reserved on Ravencrest for my baby Worgen hunter. :D
I await Worgen news! -sits and waits impatiently- @_@
*Acks and runs from Ryai* I’m to young to dieeeeee!
I don’t mean to sound pessimistic, but I don’t…..think Blizzard will introduce worgen as a race. My reasoning for this comes from years of studying Blizzard behavior, and coming up with one important conclusion.
Blizzard hates the alliance.
LoL I’m not sure I really understand all the hype. Even during the hunter pet fiasco of 09 I was like /boggle. No one talked about worgen ever before that then all of a sudden BAM, everyone and there mother wants to be one or at least have one in their purse 0.o
Eh, maybe I am an exception, but I have been saying playable/tameable worgen should be in game since I first saw them in Duskwood. I am sure a ton of people thought they looked cool, and wanted them to be playable, but Blizzard is never exactly open to ideas from the general public, if you get my drift.
For the record, I am still saying Threshers and Gryphons should be tameable.
Im of the side they should never be tameable (Worgens that is)
But agree with the others, but if gryphons get added so should wyverins!
Griffons, Hippogriffs, Wyverns, Rams, Talbuks, Kodo, the Stegodons, Pterodaz, Hydras, HORSES WILD HORSES :D
I could so see a Ram as a tenacity pet, with a stun effect, maybe same with Talbuks?
:(
and sorry Palla :c
Edit: I mean hunter’s are supposed to tame THE BEASTS OF AZEROTH OOOH. But um.
Why so few beasts to tame. I mean Blizzard said/GC said, sometime way back, that more pet families would be added :/
Or are these more lies.
You forgot the Stags, Ryai. Always wanted to tame one of those.
I think I’d rather be able to tame wild Orgrimmar Trade Chats. They’d have a pretty monster Aoe. Yeah that would make me roll BM.

I guess if I raided more (if almost ever) I’d be more underwhelmed by the Trial of the Champion 5 man. But since most of my time goes to dalies and pvp and stuff, I’m having a blast in there. And the music reminds me of the old Star Trek fighting scene music.
I take it you missed out on Barrens chat, Saranette? That was a raid level boss in and of itself.
So, am I the only one that knows Blizzard’s ‘wyvern’ isn’t actually a wyvern? Wyvern in European mythology are bipedal dragons with two wings and no arms… What Blizzard has put in here resemble a Manticore, a Lion with bat wings and a spiked tail that can fling spikes into it’s enemy, from Greek mythology… but anyways, it would be cool if they could be tamable… =P
.. on an off note wow ozzy will be at blizz con
..That would be epic if we could tame Ozzy.. and hed have sound emotes that you could almost understand… then as he was saying them there would be a blurb at the bottom saying what he really said…
Gimlion
Nah you are not the only one, but call it what you want in Azeroth it’s a wyverin so… /shrug No sense raging against the machine and confusing people you don’t know the differance.
I feel like one of the only people who are super excited to get Goblins for the Horde.
I always said if we got Goblins, I’m rerolling a spunky gal as my main.
I think they’re cute in their ugliness (much as I do with most ugly creatures). :C
I just hope they can be Hunter’s, I don’t really want to change my main class. If they can’t be, I think it’d feel a little too much like Gnomes. Besides. Goblins feel a lot more assertive to me.
“Hey you, smelly animal. Do what I say or I’ll blow yer head off with this grenade-launcher I just made!”
On the Wyvern thing, I totally agree with Gimlion. I don’t think he was ranting or raving/ I just htink he, like myself, thought it a ponderous anomoly worth mentioning. The windriders are sooooo closer to manticores and only thing they have in common with wyverns is that they have wings.
As far as the whole Worgen/Goblin thing goes…NOOOOOOOO! freaking bummer, I can’t change my faction just to play worgen! I would go insane! Who the hell is going to play a goblin on the horde side? It doesnt really fit our player profile. I mean, most of the people that would go for that play gnomes already. Every gnome-made kill sort of screams “Hahaha, fuck you, you just got killed by something ridiculous like Jigglypuff or a retarded puppy”. But if the Horde does get stuck with goblins, they better have warrior-class capability. It was lame when BE’s came out and they couldn’t be warriors, what with silence and all. And to top it off, it would balance the impossible-to-target killer fiend on the Battle Grounds. I mean, theyre so damn small, selecting them out of hte masses and seeing them is ridiculous.
Now when you look back at Blizzard history and new race choices, what has been said and proven, Worgen for Alliance (sad for me, congrats to you) and Goblins for Horde makes a lot of sense. They have always tried to achieve a sense of balance between their characters and when BC was still in speculation, Goblins were already a voiced option. It would balance gnomes just about perfectly even though I have no desire to play one. In BC we got bloodelves to counterbalance all the “ugly” races we have on our team. Draeni sort of did the opposite for Alliance but not really. Worgen would fit that role perfectly though, and they would also be a balance for Tauren. I also see them filling the hunter class in that sense too. You could argue that an animal creature controlling other animals is off, but again look at the tauren. It works then, even if it will be wierd to see a worgen running around with a worg in tow and in all likely hood have a worg pup companion pet and Blizzard will in some ridiculously bizzare way grant them a wolf mount (trading cards like how horde can have spectral tiger?). And anyone who doubts the credilty of story introduction for a race joining a faction: Orc storyline, peaceful conversion to sentience could parralel some great thing that happens to a select few worgen populations. Credibility? Compare that to the Draeni storyline. Aliens from another planet with spaceships? come on….Goblins: We bribed them. That’s it. It’s a trade agreement. Something fortuitous for their people over being with alliance. Maybe a tiff. Alliance Chose to buy/sell soley with gnomes given theyre faction members and goblins werent. that would be perfect actually.
Well congratulations Alliance on your new Worgen. Horde, uhm, we will make do.
I could certainly be wrong, but logic doesn’t favor the goblins as a new race. If population imbalances are any indication (read: too many Alliance), then Blizz would introduce a Horde race that is visually appealing. Just look at how many people rolled Blood Elves because of this. Honestly, who wants to play a goblin unless they have some crazy OP racial bonus? Also, the goblins are already established as a neutral race.
In WC2, goblins were sappers so it would be odd if they couldn’t support that traditional view as “blow ‘em up” types.
@Bldcrow: I do get a laugh out of RP servers where they report you for not having a name supporting the Old English/Medieval format, meanwhile here are spacemen running around. ;)
*waves arms* I plan on rerolling a Goblin!
Don’t assume that nobody wants to play them just because you’re butthurt and wanted the Worgen instead, guize. :/
If you saw…
Worgen= OMGAWESOMEMUSTPLAY
Goblins= Meh.
To balance the Horde:Ally ratio, Blizz would probably give Horde the “cooler” race to make people play Horde. On my server, the Ally/Horde ratio is 5:1. WE NEED MORE HORDE. So give Ally a less appealing (but still appealing) race than the Horde.
So therefore, if anything, Worgen will be Horde and Goblins will be ally.
Even if it retcons, because obviously Blizz doesn’t care any more.
