No Sexy Dragonhawk for You!

Well, as I said in the original post on this topic: there are no guarantees with content on the Public Test Realms.

In a post on the PTR Forum today, Blizzard poster Kisirani said:

The Sunreaver Dragonhawks that have been tamed will keep the coloration they have on live realms rather than getting a new texture.

In other words, taming a Sunreaver Dragonhawk now on the live realms will NOT get you a cool retired pet with a unique appearance.

If you tame a Sunreaver Dragonhawk now, or if you have tamed one in the past, you will not lose your dragonhawk — but it will continue to be a standard red dragonhawk even after the ‘wild’ version changes to the new mount-like appearance in Patch 3.2.

Kisirani also explained a bit about why this situation is different from other retired pets:

This is not a “grandfathered” situation as with other similar situations, as the new look for dragonhawks has not yet been live and this is a bug existing on the Test Realm alone. The new texture is being introduced in 3.2, but will now be applied to a new Sunreaver Dragonhawk that cannot be tamed.

Of course I’m sad about this — more pet appearances are always welcome — but I also understand their decision. … And at least this way the hated Alliance aren’t taming a beast that should be all rights be available to us Horde. *grin*

(My thanks to Beasthunter and Brio for bringing this to my attention.)

  2. Lol poor alliance.

Well atleast you guys can still tame the FP dragonhawks from Tranq and Silvermoon right?

  3. That does indeed suck. (For Alliance anyways) =/ I’m kind of glad though I asked him. (Hope no one kills me for it. :<)

Well as Horde, we can still get the mount. X) I will admit, I was a little bitter about it. I was screwed out of the ghost wolf a day before I was going to tame it.

  4. If anyone wants to kill you Aleu, they better want to come after me too, as I was the original poster of that thread. I decided to post here, so that you couldn’t take the brunt of hate yourself. ;) (For the Horde! lol)

As a Hunter I’m always happy with new pet skins/designs, but this one really ruffled my Horde feathers. Bitter was a good word for it. While I expressed the concern on the forums, by Kisirani’s answer, it seems Blizzard was aware of the bug and was probably already fixing it by the time the post went up. As such, we really can’t be blamed for it.

Either way, at least the Dragonhawk is staying with the faction it was designed for, for the purpose it was designed for. ;D

  5. PBR is the only way to save the Hunter class.
    Hope you get it.

    Leaving the game.

Tired of being put in melee range with trash melee abilities.
Fight for PBR, point blank range.

Guns have PBR in real life. Why not in WoW?

Will wait for some good game to come along.
Cancelled account but even with time remaining cannot post this to forums.

    Cya!

  6. No offense, but Alliance got rather gipped on their Argent mount. Being able to tame a version of the totally awesome Horde skin would’ve been great compensation =/

  7. Meh, one more reason why I am losing interest in the game as a whole. I can understand why some old die-hards have left the WoW experience….. it is slowly going the way of Star Wars Galaxies. They never fixed some of the bugs in the old original content, screwed up some (if not a LOT) of the BC content…. and got addicted to nerf-batting a lot of things in the new expansion along with some crummy excuses that do not make sense. This is me playing Devil’s Advocate again with the nay-saying… there will come a time when WoW will eventually lose its furor.

Also, “Think” posed a good idea in regards to point blank range or PBR….. if WoW did away with ammo pouch usefulness and letting bullets stack (and were supposedly thinking of doing away with ammo altogether and make ranged weps react more like wands as they have never had ammo to begin with), then they should have done away with the range issues along with it. The closest thing we have to PBR is Scatter Shot on the Survival Tree. Personally, I would have wanted Scatter Shot standardized as a hunter spell regardless of the talent trees…… we (hunters) do NOT have that much in regards to up-close and in-your-face melee range combat…. Scatter Shot should have been a standard spell, especially now in regards to the *cough* minor *cough* disgrace wing clip has become….. and don’t even get me started on Deterrence…..

And for all that is holy, can someone at the blizzard dev team PLEASE fix the blasted pet glitches!

  8. ….as a double post on my above “rant”; when I meant pet glitches…. I meant the ones where pet skills are turning off and on by themselves…. and sometimes the pet bar disappearing altogether. If they were so quick to deny us the Dragonhawk mount skin… how come they are not so quick to fix tings that REALLY need fixing???

  9. Lets face it a unique skin available to one faction is only going to create more complaints amounst ourselves when we should be fighting for more important things as mentioned above (close combat viability, stable slots and pet skill balance etc)

As a die hard Horde though i did let slip a guilty smile sorry :P

  10. ….. agreed, I could care less about the Dragonhawks…. sorry abt this, but after the nerf to AOE on dragonhawks… they are pretty much the cousin to windserpents in terms of functionality….. I said it before…. some pets have become nothing more than fashion accessories to a hunter and…. um, yeah…… gonna stop now.

  12. This makes me sad. :( I was getting really attached to my Dragonhawk, thinking that it would get an awesome skin soon. So now I’m thrown back to looking for a Cunning pet I really like, as there are no awesome Dragonhawk skins available.

  13. I guess my biggest complain ti…. recently, most of the new models/skins have been for Exotic pets. Since the release of WotLK, I can only think of a handful of new pets for non-BM hunters. Wasps were in game for a whilem but only became tamable with the xpac, and Aotona is a glorified Bord of Prey (new skin, same model). How about something new for non-BM’s. We wanna have some fun too. I am kinda sick of every article headline reading, “New Spirit Beast”. Wefinally get somthing cool looking to tame, and it is taken away from us before we can get it. lol

  14. @Dweezill

I agree you there. Even though I am and always will be BM, I hate it when all my pets are Exotic. Non-Exotic pets need some more love, Blizz!

    Hmm… Maybe I should try out a Ravager…

  15. Ok guys who are complaining [and complaining about getting a unicorn AND another Griff? lol?] Please stop- while I understand that it hurts that you’re not going to get a shiny pet, horde or alliance, think about it like this.

That’s basically a MOUNT Skin, and really when have we been allowed to tame a mount skin? Yes one case. The wolves from Ramparts. But afaik that could have just been an unintended glitch that Blizzard doesn’t want to fix or doesn’t want to care to fix, like color changing pets.

So yes while I understand you guys being sore, or not having shiny new pets. But to be honest, I don’t see anyone complaining about Devilsaurs. Or Sithilids. Or any other exotic. I don’t see anyone complaining for a NON EXOTIC LOQUE.

Look you guys can TAME a non exotic spirit beast-wolf now. You had the option before even, hell. The only shiny thing about Skoll is what MAKES him a Spirit Beast.

I’m sorry but you can’t have everything, you can either have some survivability and superior dps or you can have a shiny trinket pet. That’s how things are atm.

  16. Double Post. Look guys, Exotics basically are living up to their name’s definition.

’2.strikingly unusual or strange in effect or appearance: an exotic hairstyle.’

  17. @Komia – X) Well thanks for posting. I don’t think I’ll be getting much hate, but I saw a few Allie hunters in the thread that seemed to be a little upset. I’ll admit, I do feel a little bad for Alliance Hunters, but not TOO bad. ;D

@Dweezill – I’ll agree somewhat. I understand Spirit Beasts are meant to be unique, but I would like to see some new models for other pet families. I just wish they’d make that Blue Dragonhawk tameable. =/

  18. Speaking as Alliance, I’m sad to see this new skin pass us by but I agree with Blizz’s choice. Aside from it being a mount skin, pets that are only tameable by one side are bad. Don’t forget about that new faction switch thing in the works, which will cause enough headaches to the developers without also having to worry about faction specific pets.

One thing I notice no-one is mentioning in any way is the quick warning they put up about this. Barely days after the glitch was noticed, they warn us about it and their “solution”. We may not like that decision but it’s a lot better than the way they handled non-tamables in the past (black warpstalker that was fixed as a pet and made non-tameable at the same time – and a Dalaran NPC that rubs our nose into that fact for those who missed out, ghost wolf that became non-tameable without any real warning).

This time we got a fair warning well in advance, something Blizz did not even have to do because of the general rule of PTRs: “Anything on the PTR is to be considered unsure until it rolls out in a live patch.”

  19. Ryai,
“Look you guys can TAME a non exotic spirit beast-wolf now. You had the option before even, hell. The only shiny thing about Skoll is what MAKES him a Spirit Beast”.
What do you mean by this? The new Skoll wolf is a spirit beast yet not exotic? For real, or only on the ptr so more people can test him?

  20. Ryai:
“That’s basically a MOUNT Skin, and really when have we been allowed to tame a mount skin? Yes one case. The wolves from Ramparts. But afaik that could have just been an unintended glitch that Blizzard doesn’t want to fix or doesn’t want to care to fix, like color changing pets.”

Just wanted to say that no, Blizzard fully intended that. GC was the one who announced that Blizzard did decide we should have that skin.

    Komia:
But you know, I am a little ruffled at the post about “keeping pets where they are” by a Hunter. No offense, but if that were the case, you’d be posting about the Hellfire wolves or even the Ghost Wolves and other pets too. If a skin such as the Hellfire wolves are meant to be mount only and then Blizzard purposely gave it to all Hunters or if Ghost wolves were never meant to be tameable, why wasn’t that a concern too? =o

I mean don’t get me wrong, I’m not mad or nothing or biting anyone’s head off, (In actuality I really won’t miss my dragonhawk all that much since I’m not a big d-hawk fan to begin with) I just want to know the validity of the argument is sound and not just “The Alliance can get a pet we can’t!”

This Sunreaver pet *was8 tameable to the Horde til 3.1., and in fact, some Horde Hunters did have one. So it wasn’t like there was *no* Horde players who could get it; I think the real reason this became an issue was because it became a noticeable effect and the Horde had no continuous way to continue tame it after it became a future retired pet.

Now yes, that is a perfectly legit claim. After all, we’re all Hunters. But faction-only pets aren’t a new thing. Spot, for example, the barking wolf of Dustwallow can only be tamed by Horde, as well as Rema the large black wolf of Blade’s Edge can only be tamed by Alliance. Or Snorts, the High level boar. One can argue that Snorts (being a Stable Master’s pet) is not an intentional tamable either.

Those are just a few off the top of my head.

So I mean, I understand the reasoning behind the post, but I think you can also see why I doubt it’s real intentions, no offense. =)

  21. If, on the PTR, Blizzard accidentally made a freaking Fel Reaver with shoulder-mounted lasers tameable, and then fixed it, I swear there would still be a number of players complaining that “Blizzard nerfs all the cool stuff” and that A Fel Reaver pet was all they ever wanted.

Let’s be honest, while that new Dragonhawk mount skin is really beautiful, so are many others. If Eversong Woods was full of level 5 dragonhawks with that new mount skin, hardly anyone would be giving them a second thought now. And if, instead, the new mount was the first time that our “plain old golden” dragonhawk was introduced, and hunters couldn’t get it, many people would now be raving about how much more beautiful it was and how Blizzard sucked for not letting them have it.

Once you get past the need for whatever you can’t get, or shouldn’t have, you begin to notice how many really beautiful pet skins are out there already. Of course it would be great if they added more, but that’s beside the point.

  22. Aleu:
Yeah, I don’t feel bad for alot of us either. XD

    Tsani:
Yes, I agree. I’m glad it wasn’t a super quick hotfix. As one of the people around the time of Ghost Wolf Madness, I have become super-skeptical of hotfixes and the like. I think Blizzard realizes that as far as pets go, hotfixing isn’t the answer as it causes a huge amount of an uproar.

    Nirvana:
We got jipped on our mount? But… I like the Unicorn…. I like it lots ;)

ok I’m done blog comment hogging now. XD

And again, I’m not angry or nothing, so if my words do sound harsh, it’s not my intention. I know some of my larger-comment may get to some people, but just realize, it’s an opinion and we’re all entitled to one =)
(as long as we don’t get rude and call each other names XD)

  23. Ok I was done til I saw Wain’s comment and I just had to say…

*begs* Cmon Fel Reaver!!! I can name it Megatron and have it punch my guildies in the face when they win rolls over me =D

ok I’m done now, and no I don’t really want a Fel Reaver XD I still have nightmares in Hellfire peninsula over it.

  24. Alliance are smart enough to know that Dragonhawks are absolutely crap pets :P

But seriously, don’t you play both sides? What’s with the Horde-rage?

  25. .. Noba no. I mean, the ONLY thing special about Skoll is his different skin, if he wasn’t black and glowy blue with lightning, no one would be moaning about him being an Exotic. Why? Because he’d be another starved wolf.

Exotics live up to their name sake; all exotics are flashy and eye catchy, either with skills or skins.

If Skoll was a -normal- wolf and just rare, nothing special about his family tree or skin, no one would care about Skoll.

And Rikaku, I feel you. My first experience was watching it slowly kill Ariamodasu when she was helping me do a few quests when I just dinged like 59 and had a then, freshly tamed purple cat before I got tired of seeing purple cat everywhere.

I now jump whenever I hear that BRRRRRSTOMPSCREEESTOMP sound and sometimes have almost BOLTED into one of the fel reavers.

  26. Okay, I honestly don’t get what all the complaining is about. We *all* know that nothing on the PTR is certain to go to the live realms.

Besides don’tcha think you’re getting a little greedy? We have tons of pet skins out there now, so many that even if you filled your roster with 10 hunters and ignored the other classes completely you still wouldn’t be able to collect them all (woah Poke’mon craze flashback). If Blizz meant for us to tame the skin they would have slapped it on a named rare, in a dungon or something of that sort, not a mount. I also disagree with the notion that there aren’t any good dragonhawk skins out there, personally I think the golden ‘hawk skin is rather attractive and would have one save for the fact that flappies drive me nuts, with their wings in my face and all.

Anyway my point is instead of complaining about what we can’t have, which we mistankenly seem to think we’re entitled to, why don’t we be grateful for what they gave us? I mean who here thought they’ed see the day when you could tame a freaking Devilsaur? When I started playing WoW I certainly didn’t.

As for the exotics, hello folks that’s what duel spec is for (Yet another one I thought I’d never see). Besides how special would the exotics (def: strikingly, excitingly, or mysteriously different or unusual) be if any old hunter could tame them?

And no I’m not saying this to bash the Alliance, who would have recieved the pet. Despite my main (Snikersnack) being Horde I do have an Ally hunter and would have loved to have tamed that if only for show. But its never going to happen, oh well.

One last thing, I know some of my comments may ruffle some feathers, but I ask you to please remember that everyone has the right to an opinion and the right to express it. Even if you don’t agree with mine I request that you be polite about disagreeing with it, unlike what I’ve seen on some of the other forums. Though, from what I’ve seen since I started browseing this blog people are usually very good about avoiding name calling and such and I offer my compliments to Mania and all of you regular posters for keeping it clean. I’ve been heavily bashed under a different name on other forums (granted not always WoW related) so I really like it when I can post on a topic and not think I’m going to get bashed to he**.

  27. I really could care less about the dragonhawk skin. My point is, when Wrath came out, we got a bunch of exotic pets to tame… and a couple non-exotics. Since that time, not many non-exotics have become tamable. Aotona bieng the one worth really noting. Yeah, there are a lot more non-exotics than exotics, but there are also a TON more SV and MM hunters than BM. How about giving us non-MB somethig to read about other than a new tamable Spirit Beast. That’s allI am saying

  28. Well at least that put me at peace, otherwise it would make 5 awesome looking pets my sorely underlvled hunter missed out on. 9The others being the Sapphire Hive Queen, and the 3 from the Oracles daily.)

  29. Dweezill; ever think that’s probably going to happen in the future? And besides why are you really complaining. I’m sorry, but why? As SV or MM you’re not really limited to what pets you can bring. I’ve been hearing that it’s ‘Devilsaur or no go’ or ‘Spirit Beast all the way!’ all OTHER Exotics are USELESS. Sithilids? PVP. Corehounds? Alright but PVP. Chimera? PVP. Worms? Semi decent. Rhinos? USELESS.

Why are you complaining about hunters getting ‘more exotics’ when in the end we have been nerfed to hell concerning them! There’s only 6 Exotic Trees! And nearly all of them have a handful or less, pets than most normal trees! Wolves? You get three models there. Wind serpents? 2 models, several colors, including the elusive white-black outland one!

I’m sorry but I’m just sick of this; I’m MM but I want to be treated more special! I’m SV I deserve to be more special! I’m BM I’m the most special so screw you two I’m going home! That’s basically what these pet squabbles turn into!

If you want the shiny pets, roll BM, if not please don’t complain! You have MULTITUDES OF CHOICES!

Ryai? Ryai only has one choice if I want to ‘dps seriously as BM’ and that’s DEVILSAUR. Oh sure I could get a wolf or a cat- but then I could have just been SV or MM. I went BM because I wanted the pets!

    Just raaaaaaage raaage raaage

I’m going to go back to suiciding Harp to Winterspring now.

  30. Kedaar:
I’m not sure if your comment is directed at me or not, but just in case. Yes I do play both sides (though NE is my main by far due to the sheer amount of time invested in Rikaku) and I don’t think any of my post is Horde-rage. I consider myself very fond of the Horde and my fellow Hunters, though I occasionally playfull rant about Blood Elves ;)

    Snicksnak:
“As for the exotics, hello folks that’s what duel spec is for (Yet another one I thought I’d never see). Besides how special would the exotics (def: strikingly, excitingly, or mysteriously different or unusual) be if any old hunter could tame them?”
I agree completely. My guildie and I actually got in a fight yesterday because he said SV and MM should have MM and SV-only pets too. I found that laughable, I mean, no offense SV/MM hunters, but, there’s a reason BEASTmastery hunters have a bigger selection of pets.

Now if they wanted to argue that there should be MM only guns or SV only traps, well then, that’s different.

‘Whole nother can of worms I just opened there XD

    Dweezil:
I would love to see other non-exotics added in content patches too. I mean, it’s not much to ask for new cat, bear, wolf etc etc.

To be fair, we didn’t see that many new pets come out in BC content patches either. I mean, in 2.3 we lost alot of tameable common pets to the changes in Dustwallow. We gained some cats in Skettis, but we also lost the infamous Hawkbane. It wasn’t even til late in BC’s life did we see the Storm Crow/Dire Raven models. But lets also remember that by 3.1 we still havent seen the Icecrown Citadel raid, and by 2.1 we had Black Temple (or was it 2.2?). Content patches this time around are much larger, slower, and more focused on world events or raids.

So I do hope for there to be more cats and other non-exotics, but I also hope for more exotics. I hope for more pets for everyone. Wolves, raptors, turtles, bears, you name it.

If I ran WoW, I would also make a common-Spirit Beast that looked unique to the rare spawned ones that way Spirit Beasts (according to the blue post of why they don’t have substantially high dps) could have competitive DPS and not be just a “yay I succeeded at camping for 5 hours!” pet.

    But that’s just me.

  31. What I simply meant, Rikaku, is that the new mounts added for Alliance are kinda underwhelming to me considering their similarity to other, more-easy-to-get models. The unicorn is nice, yeah – but alot like the Refer-a-Friend mount that can be obtained (relatively) easily. The hippo is almost exactly like the Argent hippo, which is readily available to both factions for nothing more than doing dailies for a couple weeks. Whereas the Horde get a Dragonhawk, a mount that up until now was only accessible through a difficult achievement, and one I’ve lusted after but – well, I’m not all that fond of the Alliance blue :(

  32. It was to be expected.

Quote-”Well, as I said in the original post on this topic: there are no guarantees with content on the Public Test Realms.”

I completly agree, more tameables for everyone! They *could* just make some of the nontameables tameable, get worship from nearly every hunter, and be happy. It’s not too hard.

I like the shiny gold dragonhawks better anyways. That ochre color looks kind of…odd. What I really want is tameable hydras and Dawnblade Dragonhawks.

  33. Nirvana:
Oh I didn’t mean anything by it at all. I just have always wanted a unicorn/zhevra so when I saw it, I spazzed XD I was hardly serious over my comment =) I love the Alliance blue color actually, though it really comes down to personal preference and nothing more. XD I love the Silver Covenant Hippo, but I’d rather tame it than ride it honestly. <__>

  34. Speaking as a die-hard Horde, bwaaaahahahaahah!

Also ready PBR as peanut-butter-jelly for like a couple minutes before getting it. oops. Common guys, fight for sandwiches!

(anyone see if the ramps armor’d worgs are still tameable on the ptr?)

  35. Saranette:
Yes, those worgs are tameable. They’re meant to be tameable, it’s not a bug. Ghostcrawler announced way back on the forums that Blizzard intentionally allowed us to tame those worgs. So have no fear, they will remain tameable.

  36. HA! Whoever said exotics are living up to their full definition is only half-right in one way but right in terms of definition. But as for functionality….. well, that’s debatable…. Ya got the unique looks and skills right… but originally before all the nerf-batting went around, the Exotics were also supposed to be better overall… slightly better dps/tanking/what-have-you across the board….. EXACTLY what the BM tree is supposed to be in terms of usefulness before the fall of BM… granted they got the dps right on Devilsaur…. everything else went the way of the dodo…… BM got nerfed to a point where it is no longer raid/pvp/heroic viable in regards to what a LOT of groups want… and that included the Exotics… be honest, aside from getting kudos for taming something rare and unique to parade around capital cities, who DOES take them into end-game stuff when we need something that can help us tear the mobs to shreds before they try to wipe us? My brother was BM when he went into his first heroic the moment he hit 80 last night and at first wipe, they kicked him out of the group due to his being BM and not cranking out damage fast enough and got a Survival specialized hunter that also wanted in as replacement because he didn’t have dual spec and couldn’t wait for him to respec to a different spec.

… a side note… true we have lots of pets to choose and some we prefer more than others….. but how many can you actually count on as of current patch to be really useful to you and to the group as a whole? Almost all I ever see on our server are Bears (for off tanking/AoE physical combat both for solo and groups), Wolves, and Cats in any raid/pvp/heroic/high level dungeon. Don’t get me wrong, I love the variety…. but we are still being boxed in to just a handful of pets that are actually useful. And blizzard nerfing them to a baseline 5/5/5 hurt them in the survivability area…. especially the tenacity pets that used to have more health overall….. and we’re complaining about a certain pet skin? I’m alliance, and could care less about it….. I simply want pets the way they were before everything got screwed up.

  37. Alright after calming down.

    I still don’t get why people want more skins- looking at the top ‘four dps pets’ imo;

    Cats: 23
    Moths: 6
    Raptors: 13
    Wolves: 18

    Now compare it to Exotics used the most;

    Devilsaurs: 4
Spirit Beasts: 2 [3 with Skoll]
And oh lets say Corehounds: 3

And it’s just, why are people complaining- have you even seen half the hunter fads? They change. Random wolf skin one month, random cat skin the next. Why would you want a ‘unique skin’ when it’d be made un unique faster than Loque? And Blizzard already -gave- normal hunters a unique skinned pet and I don’t see ANYONE with it .-.

Jewel Owl. Tbh I forgot about it before looking at ALL of the pets.

  38. Ryai,
I never once said that SV or BM hunters should be able to tame exotics. I just stated a fact that very few pets for non-BM hunters have come out lately. Never once did i say any spec should be treated better than the other. So, please stop putting words into my mouth. I have had the same group of pets in my stable since Wrath was released (maybe a change of skin here and there). For the most part,I haven’t had anything to tame in a quite a while. Just pointing out that i would like to have something new to tame for myself rather than everything being exotic. It wouldn’t be that hard for Blizz to make an interesting pet that could be tamed by all.

  39. I played with the Emerald Owl for a little bit, was fun. Was a toss up between her and the Maroon bird. Till Aotona that is…

I will say, I’ve only seen one other hunter with her these couple of months. I’ve seen like 20 or 30 different Gondrias. Wonder if we’ll see the new wolf more of if those hunters still like cats better…hehe

Would be interesting to see in the future, since yeah, the Exotics have been toned down allot, if they will be let tamable by other specs, but in a corresponding toned down mode? (i.e. when off of the 51 pt talent, Loqre and Gondria, revert to regular cat skills, Corehounds use howl, Slithids just use web, Chimeras use the thunderbolt of windserpents, etc…) Prolly not, but the way some things are going these days, this would be one way to address needing slots for non-exotics…definitly not…

(I still think you should feed Spirit Beasts with Spirits though!)

  40. No I’m NOT saying you want to tame exotics. I’m comparing the fact you’re complaining about MORE exotics being released than normal pets and look at the numbers Dweezill. Look. At. Them. 60 normal pets for 4 families. 9/10 for 3 of the exotic familes. And you’re complaining that more normal pets haven’t been released? Why? Normal pets far outwiegh exotics, you have 60 choices ALONE from 4 familes where as, BM’s have 10 choices from 3. That is far from fair but I’ve not complained, I’ve not opened my mouth, because I was just glad to be able to tame exotics as it is.

  41. Just to chime in! I’ve played Horde and Alliance since 2005, and I have to be honest, the horde used to be Blizzards favorites, hands down. From quest rewards to quests to quest locations to stories within the quests to racials, the horde were heavily favored. As of roughly Wrath most of that has been changed to be fairly balanced between the two, though the early level content is still fairly biased.

ANYWAY, my point is this: If Blizzard is going to balance one thing, they should balance as much as possible.

  42. Ryai:
Not sure if the comment was directed at me or not, but I think the reason why people want more pets to tame is well simply, why not? I’m not defending why a Sunreaver Mount should be tameable, no. Not at all.

But what’s hard about making Brown/White worgs instead of red/white worgs available in game (AKA old color changing LBRS worgs) Or those sweet metal cats, heck add a vibrant purple devilsaur, or pink raptor XD

I think most Hunters would like to see more pets just because well, it’s not really that hard and because Hunters are one of the few classes where a similar geared Hunter can feel different from another one who looks exactly the same just because one has a tiger and another a bear.

And I have to agree, other than a handful of non-exotics and 3 new exotics, we haven’t seen the release of many new pets in any family since Wrath’s release.

That’s all I have been saying anyways. XD

  43. Now see the post got me mad enough then you added the comment about the alliance… What was the point in adding that?

  44. I was scanning the entirety of the comments and then I saw what Rottingham posted and at first I didn’t understand what he meant until it occurred to me he was talking about Mania’s actual post rather than the comments themselves. It’s true that the news itself was disheartening for some of the hunters that did indeed tame the beast in hopes that the skin change would go through to live servers, the comment about the Alliance was begging for retaliations in regards to a few Alliance hunters out there. Kind of like rubbing salt into open metaphorical wounds. The news should have been impartially given, adding the comment at the end of it was not good form as you KNOW some people will take it personally – especially those who take the game way too seriously.

  45. From Ryai: And Blizzard already -gave- normal hunters a unique skinned pet and I don’t see ANYONE with it .-.

Jewel Owl. Tbh I forgot about it before looking at ALL of the pets.

I have a hunter with a spore bat. Yep. Spore bat. Giant floating fungus of doom. They fixed them, you know; spore cloud works great even sub-80. It holds aggro great, though being a Cunning pet, he’s a little squishy (but hey, that can be adjusted for). Does ANYONE have them? Even though mine is a gorgeous bright blue and glows and sheds pretty sparkles all over the place and ALL that?

No. Not a soul. Hell, I think I have the only one on the whole damn server.
Spore Bats are not exotic! Though… they’re certainly unusual. Want one? Zangarmarsh is waiting. Three colors to pick from! BE THE ONLY ONE ON YOUR BLOCK!

  46. You don’t say, eh? I’ve been weighing my options for a good dps cunning pet for heroics, and the light aoe + mana battery sounds like an interesting choice.

I’ve also been meaning to check out that one named Sporebat… Thanks for the reminder Nact=)
