Reminder: Child’s Play Auction This Week
Somehow I phased out and missed the start of Children’s Week — and the Child’s Play auction that Brigwyn at The Hunting Lodge has organized to help raise money for real world children at the same time.
Both of these events started yesterday, but there is still plenty of time to get involved!
In-game, swing by the orphanage in Orgrimmar or Stormwind City, and the orphanage in Shattrath City and talk to an Orphan Matron to get started. Even if you don’t bother with the achievements — and I’m not, not with an annoying PvP achievement in the mix (although I would have been happy enough last night to slaughter the Tauren Death Knight who stole my Lovely Cake!) — you can still get a mini-pet from each of the quest lines.
Out-of-game, you can check out the progress of the Children’s Week Child’s Play Charity Auction — and bid on an item yourself — via this page on eBay. Or skip the auction and donate directly via the Donate buttons at the Hunting Lodge. Every bit helps!
As of this evening, my own contribution to the auction — the winner’s choice of any item at my CafePress store, Mania’s Arcania Emporia (and if I’d realized how often I’d have to type that I would have picked a shorter name! but I thought it was cute at the time) — has only one bid.
Now I realize my stuff isn’t nearly as exciting as a BRK Rhino Bowling shirt or a specially-created print from Cadistra, the artist of the World of Warcraft, Eh? comic. (I’m considering a bid on that one myself.)
But one bid? C’mon! You guys can do better than that! If it helps at all, I would be more than happy to autograph the item (although that does mean that shipping will take a little longer).
*cough* I will not, however, be modeling any of the items, and especially not any of the ten different thongs I have available. (And I suspect that most of you would thank me for my modesty, truth be told.)
Anyway, check out the auction, donate if you can, take your faction-appropriate orphan on a tour of the world — and enjoy your Children’s Week!

I don’t generally do these events, but a willy would be an interesting companion. As for the auction I prolly won’t be bidding. Sorry mania, but I doubt my fiance would enjoy a Blacksting thong. Also I’m sure your husband thanks you for your modesty.

I tried to do the achievements but after two orphans I ran out of time… should have scheduled orphan time.
Hey Mania, Maybe you should start a post on Gondria. Like BRK’s old Spirit beast one. Your blog would be the central area for this type of post. Look how that forum topic took off. Just an idea.

Totally not WoW related… I saw your post on another blog that says where you’re located, and that you’re looking to do stuff IRL with people like yourself. I am one. :) I posted and suggested that the three of us get together sometime!
