It was sent to me by an artist named Razzy (aka Muldrik the Tauren Hunter on Azuremyst (US)) who says: “The images were obtained from WoW Model Viewer, and the background was obtained from Flickr.com under a creative commons license.” But the beautiful and creative combination is all Razzy.
The WotLK FAQ on Petopia says that pet respec costs on the beta realms are currently 1 copper, and so we don’t actually know how much it will eventually cost to respec your pet. And that’s true as far as it goes.
But yesterday I happened to notice that pet respec costs on the Public Test Realms are not 1 copper. In fact, on the PTR respecing your pet has the following increasing cost:
Blizzard updated the Public Test Realms and the WotLK Beta realms this evening with Patch 3.0.2 (9038). This was a small patch (something like 12 MB) and our second this week, so I am expecting primarily skill and talent tweaks.
Some good news to start, though: the 3% damage difference in ex-caster pets is gone! Ex-casters now have exactly the same stats as normal pets. (Let’s hope they stay that way this time.)
You know, if it weren’t for Ghostcrawler’s posts I’d find the days between beta patches pretty boring.

We recently added a new rank of Growl. Once we have the final numbers in for it, that should help with threat a great deal.
Blizzard has updated its Under Development page to talk about Patch 3.0.2, dubbed Echoes of Doom. At this point, this page just lists the highlights of the upcoming patch and refers you to the PTR patch notes for more details.

Gorillas are certainly the belle of the ball right now in the beta, and I fully expect them to blossom on live as well after Patch 3.0.
Today we have a request from a hunter who is getting prepared early!
With the changes coming in WotLK, I was preparing myself in advance. Knowing that stabled pets appear to auto-level now, I’ve gone and tamed myself a tanking pet.
Ghostcrawler posted in the WotLK Beta hunter forum today that the amount of experience that pets needs to level is being reduced:
We just recently increased the pet level rate.

Blizzard updated the Public Test Realms and the WotLK beta realms with build 3.0.2 (9014) this evening. I took a quick look at pet skills and talents and found no obvious differences between last build and this one — which is good because it means we can concentrate on looking for new beasts to tame. *grin* I’m headed out to do that now, and I’ll let you know if I find anything. And you should do the same!

I have a taming challenge for any enterprising Horde hunter in the beta. (Sorry, PTR testers, but you can’t help with this one.) I’d like you to try taming Snorts, the slumbering boar of Frosthold in the Storm Peaks.
