The Wrath of the Lich King expansion launched about a week ago — well, a week and a day, really — and … nothing much important has happened since. Sure, Blizzard sold 2.8 million boxes in the first 24 hours, which set a new record. And there are server queues and server transfers to talk about, realm firsts and world firsts to celebrate or decry. For the most part we’re all just happily playing along right now, enjoying the new content.
RFC stands for “Request For Comments” — which basically means that I need your help (again!). I’m getting a lot of questions about the pros and cons of each pet family and in particular the pet family skills. But there’s no way that I really test all the pet families in every situation myself, so I want to hear about your experiences with them! (And yes, with 32 pet families this could take awhile.)

As a self-proclaimed bad hunter, I tend to ignore many of the hunter skills — and certainly the more complex and situational ones. The fact is, I’m lazy — or as I prefer to say, lackadaisical (which has the overtone of not being interested enough to make the effort, instead of just being a character flaw). I play to relax, not to challenge myself. And so for most of my huntering career I’ve been pretty satisfied with Auto Shot, Arcane Shot, and Serpent Sting … and not much else.
I’ve been playing way, way too much the past few days. But as far as I can tell, everyone else is too, so I can’t feel too terrible about it. (Although I can feel somewhat hung-over from lack of sleep.)
But I did want to share something that happened to me yesterday — no, wait … earlier today. (What day is it again?) This isn’t the sort of thing I want to encourage, but it is kinda cute.
The rash of hunter and pet changes in Patch 3.0 and Wrath of the Lich King have generally been pretty welcome. But changes often bring bugs and similar weirdnesses, and this time was no exception.
