Petopia is Back Up
As you may have noticed, Petopia had a period of unexpected downtime earlier today when our host suspended us for overloading their servers. (Generally speaking, I’m pretty satisfied with our host, but it’s not their fault when all you people flock to Petopia during scheduled maintenance two days before a new expansion. Bad people! *grin*)
We’re back up now, although we’ve temporarily turned off some of the pages that were causing problems — namely the list of sexy new pets and the list of Wrath pets. Hopefully we’ll be able to get those operational again later today. We’ll also be making some changes so we don’t go down unexpectedly during the first week of the expansion. *crosses fingers*
I want to thank Brash for stopping by and letting people know what was up. I had just crawled out of bed when I saw we were down and was barely coherent. (Hey, I was up late!)
[update] The Sexy New Pets and WotLK Pets pages are available again, but if they continue to cause problems I may have to pull them back down.

Same, I really enjoy coming here. It’s refreshing, always good company and having a place to share our love of Pets is really satisfying.

Yesterday I tamed an armored wolf from Hellfire Ramparts. The big bad black spiked wolves were tamable. Maybe it’s a patch bug like the one for the ghostwolves a few months ago. I really love this pet… he looks nasty, wears a saddle… look at this picture: that’s my new pet!

@Pepp Wayyyy to go, Pepp. That wolf is awesome, isn’t it :) Mine is named Manegarm. It is a wolf from Norse mythology that chases the moon, among other neat things it will do. So far in the last week, he has only gone up a couple of levels, but I am working on it (now if the dang servers would just come online!).
And it would be nice if Blizz removed the saddle,but leave the spikes.
=( I hope they don’t remove the saddle, it looks just like my pvp mount as though I could ride my pet. I know its unfair to Alliance, but maybe the attention will get attention, and more pet/mount combos will appear!
Named mine Meathead after Dirty Harry’s danger-sensing bulldog =)
I wish our pets still stayed out when we got on our land mount. I chose my mounts to match my main pet in many cases (I have many hunters).
At least you were back up quicker than the servers…grrrrr

Petopia is my one stop info on all pet things!! Great job Mania!!!!
I called upon a hunter fiend of mine and said to him. “Heya, wanna tame something cool?” and he said sure, what is it. “Meet me in BF and you’ll see ;)”
And off went dragging a few other non-hunters in for tanking/heals. We did experience some issues though with taming being broken….Freeze trap, and start taming and taming just not channeling….so we ran back out (after several failed attempt and dead wolf later, a couple of resets) then we killed the orcs, left the wolves alive then ran out of the instance and then back into the dungeon and Wolves were easy tames!! I named mine Kalmfang
He’s all nice and armoured and love the big spiked collar, oh and his family ability “Furious Howl” Stacks with “Call of the wild” for a bigger boost.
