WoW Insider has a post up with the downloaded patch notes from Patch 3.0.2. (These are the notes that downloaded with the client patch this morning.) The current patch notes page on the World of Warcraft site hasn’t been updated yet (as I type this) — it’s still showing Patch 2.4.3.
However! I’m not going to be posting the Patch 3.0 patch notes myself — no, not even the hunter bits — because frankly the downloaded notes are a mess. It’s hard for me to judge the skill-specific notes, but the pet-related items are in random order, lacking important details, and entirely confusing.
If you want to know all the pet changes in this patch, I suggest you start with the summary on Petopia instead. (But of course I would suggest that! *grin*)
I’m very much hoping that Blizzard has an updated set of patch notes to post on their site sometime today. (And who knows — there may be a poor Community person frantically confirming, clarifying and revising even as we speak! Certainly that’s how most MMO teams handle patch notes.)
[edit] Blizzard’s current patch notes page has now been updated. These notes don’t look any more recent than the downloaded ones, though.
I especially like notes like: “Freezing Trap now breaks on damage.” That’s just utterly confusing if you don’t have the beta context.
Most of those notes have been overriden in the various build downloads.

I downloaded the patch while working on a piece for my own blog. It went smoothly and without fuss. It did take more than an hour to download and install though. Now, I just have to wait for the servers to be up.
I still have another day =(

Well,I have think this may be the first “glitch” reportings for the new patch… nd this is a huuuuge one. I see there are people in my realm playing now, but my “character list” will not pop up. I am hoping this is happening because the realm is not co plete yet… even though it is stating that the realm has “medium activity” right no. So, is anybody else’s charcter list not showing up in their realms. Oh yeah, this is ocurring in Sarrgera. let me know what’s goig on, ok? lol
some of the realms appear to be up.but none of the new hair styles are showing on the character creation screen.the death knight buttons are there but greyed out…
The DeathKnights dont come out till The Wrath of the Lich Comes out Hyena.. Sorry This is just a patch to get everything ready so its not so much of a burden to us and them to patch and lag their servers come the next expansion on Nov. 13th. Look to see lots of things not working like they say it is suppose to for at least a week, patch glitches ftl lol.. Not all servers are up yet, the WOW site is down and the servers that are “up” are not all working.. So.. again.. its going to be a fun evening of “Hurry up to wait..” :)
I get stuck at “retrieving character list, so I can’t even make a new character on a realm that I have another character on. Like i said, the realm says there is medium activity right now, but i don;t have access to my character list. I guess I’ll just have to keep waiting and see how things go.

I believe Blizzard has said in the past that the whole ‘Low’, ‘Medium’, ‘High’ metric is relative to other realms. So it may be that one person is on each of the Low realms, two on the Medium and three on High. And everyone else is frantically trying to get in. :>
Oh yeah, just for everyone else’s entertainment (feel free to laugh), i will let you in on how my day went. When I woke up this morning, I started up Warcraft, and was promted to dowload a final patch… so I started downloading it. About halfway through the download, it said something to the effect that I didn;t have enough available disc space to finish the download. Let me remind you, I play on a Dell Optiplex GX150… flat computer that the monitor sits on. It only has a 20 GB hard drive. So, I had to uninstall WoW from my computer, reinsert the discs and re-download them on my 360GB external harddrive. now I have to download all the patches from 4.3.0 through all the new ones. lol This old thing plays the games really great after sooping it up, but to think I would run out of disc space…. Good thing I had everything backed up on the new computer. lol It doesn’t play as smooth as my dinosaur, but it will have to do till all the patches are downloade. I know that has nothing to do with what this site is supposed to be about, but I do hope it puts a smile on a few faces. I was mad earlier, but I can laugh about it now, and I hope all of you can too. lol
I got in on Elder’Theas, My Alli realm.. It is working just fine.. I just happened to be in a main city so I used the barber shot.. I was a bit disappointed, but hey.. That isnt for here.. :) <3 ya Mania.. I will try to get onto my hunter on Azgalor if Horde is ever loved heh.. And let ya know if I see any glitches.

Sargeras still down…and I thought ahead too. I had Blacksting camped and in my sights. Naturally, to make myself happy, i will have to try the white and black wasps to see if they were made tamable. As of last night, people said they were not, but it can’t hurt to try. Anyway, waiting (im)patiently for my realm to come up.

oh i know they wont be added till the expansion.i was just saying the dk button is there now,even if its not useable.kinda sad that the new hair styles dont seem to be in yet.but at least the patch downloaded without hal exploding…

Hyena84: The new hairstyles for the races are in. I just scanned through them on my alt’s realm that did come up.
They need to fix this retrieving character list problem and now! XD I’m impatient. Though I bet it has something to do with their main site also getting a complete overhaul.

If this helps any, I can’t get my aaliance characters due to the “retrieval” problem… so it’s not just horde. lol
I thought the new hair styles where only from the barber shops? At least on the PTR when I created a new character before mines copied over, I couldn’t select the new hairs on the creation screen, but was able to get them from the barber shop.
hmm.still cant see the new hair stuff on the character creation screens i can get to.at least more of the realms are on the list now…
I want to get on NOW! Hellscream is down and I want to auto-level my nameless low-level Hyena! And I want to check out the available hairstyles to.

Shinryu & Hyena: I meant if you create a new character, you can already select the new hairstyles. If you mean on an existing character, you can only change in the barbershop. Hyena, not sure why you can’t see them. What race are you looking at?

Looks like most of WoW is offline – can’t even get on their forums or main website. Oh no!! Arthas has defeated Blizzard, they were not prepared. :)
Nevermind, Realms are all up (or should be) but according to new news, “Character Retrieval is experiencing error”.Expect updates at 4:30 PM >< argh!

You know, sitting here, I was thinking, it would be cool if all the Hunters from this blog who visited regularly met. You know, in game. Like we should all make toons that are level 1 one night, make them like our main Hunters if we wanted. Then we should meet in a zone and chill, Horde and/or Alliance. It’d make for an awesome screenshot anyways.

Shadowkaizen: I’d assume a PvE realm, because PvP can turn hairy and I know some people’s names don’t follow the whole RP name server rules =) I’ll check into it more and probably post it on the forums sometime.

Have you killed anything that would have given it XP yet? The bar usually doesn’t show up until it has some XP.
OK, realm is up, and I already have Blacksting tamed. he really didn;t shrink much, and is pretty coool looking. I will try playing with him in a bit. just wanted to let you all know that I am no longer getting the “retieval” thing when I log in.

Boy,I picked the worst day to do a fresh install of Windows and WoW. All patches are forever long. So much for getting Numaroc first thing after patch… Me and my ideas. Well, least I did it now and wont have to do a fresh clean for Wrath.
My realm isn’t even on the list anymore. I’m just about ready to call it quits until tomorrow. Grats to those who are on! :D

had soem ressing glitchs but im past the guards.the moths got an exp bar now.and it looks like alot of the npcs here,while red named,arnt actually attackable if theyre civilians.hopefully this means greifers cant kill stable masters anymore…
Well as of 3 seconds ago, Most of the servers are down again….Tried to get on my Hunter BUt got the retreavl problem you all have been talkin bout..
cant wait for them to fix this and see what the new talants will do for partys…tonight and tommorrow(off work due to workers comp)..
