Name That Pet: Unmaroon’s Owl

Today we have a Name That Pet request from Unmaroon, a Tauren hunter from the realm Argent Dawn.

Unmaroon writes:

Well, the name’s Unmaroon. I’m a level 70 Tauren Hunter and a bit of a pet hoarder. I try to cover my bases with the pets I own such as Boar = Tank, Raptor = Dps, and my owl will be my balance. I did own an owl at a lower level, but I ended up dropping it to pick up the ravager. It was a bad idea so I took the time in AV to catch this little fella. (Not easy btw with Alliance and team members killing either me or the bird I was after!)

Anyway, I’m a BM hunter FTW and on the rare times I’m asked to RP the pet is the main focus of it so I’m wanting something original. I tend to try to act different, look different and own things that no one else has, so please make it flashy. I had a few really good ideas, but I’m really wanting to see what you all can do. Lore if you can — I’m one for using names of gods. Such as my Boar’s name is Okkoto ‘The Boar Lord of the Plains’, but I have made up my own. Like my raptor’s name happens to be Unamii. Nothing really outstanding, but I do want a serious sounding name.

If your owl is female, I suggest Aloura. It doesn’t mean anything, just something I made up. It’s a beautiful and noble sounding name for a beautiful and noble beast.

I wish there was room for Kaepora Gaebora

Loki – “Trickster God”, unisex name (NOT lore, but I’m biased because I like it :P)

Ermothe – Modified “Earth Mother”

Lexstra/Trasza – for Alextrasza, red dragon aspect of life

…You know, it might be kind of neat to do more mixing up of the names of gods of Azeroth that Tauren might respect. I used WoWWiki.

Athena-goddess of wisdom. She’s portrayed as a light gray or white owl.

BUBO! Like the mechanical owl that the gods make for the Hero in Clash of The Titans.

go BM tauren hunters =D as for name, i like Athena if its a girl and Loki if its a boy

I called my owl Whisper since he’s soooo quiet you barely know he was with you in an instance etc

I would like to say that you should name it Kaepora because of the sheer awesome-ness-isity that comes with that name :D
You could use that Pet emote addon to make it say something like “Kaepora blathers on, and on, and on…………
…Do you understand? NO?!?! Well listen carfully… again…”

Just don’t name it Artemis, everyone has an Artemis Owl.

I’ll second the vote for Whisper, mainly because that was the name of my hunter’s first owl. He made the dangerous trip to Teldrassil at a very young age just so he could tame an owl. I, too, regret letting him go for another pet along the way.
