Petoholics Anonymous: Pet-o-licious Namerator
I’m a bit behind on this news, I know — it’s bad when WoW Insider beats me to pet naming news! — but last week Faeldray of Petoholics Anonymous announced the moment that hunters have been waiting for: the release of the exceedingly cool Pet-o-licious Namerator.
The Namerator is a neat little tool that takes your pet family and whether you want a serious or silly name and gives you some possibilities. For example, one of my favorites so far is the name Precious, found under “Ravagers - Silly”. I can just see a spoiled young blood elf with her spoiled ugly ravager, hugging it, toting it around and talking baby talk to it, calling it Precious. (Actually, I may have to go make that character now … *sigh*)
The coolest thing about the Pet-o-licious Namerator, though, is that you can suggest names and Faeldray will add them to the program. So while some of the name sets are a little short right now, we can fix that! Just use the form at the bottom of the Namerator page to suggest your favorite pet names and once Faeldray gets them input they’ll be there available for the next hunter who comes looking for ideas. Cool, eh?

Very cool.
I choose serious names, for the pet species. 1 I found particularly memorable, in “Dragon hawks– serious”, was the name “Smaug (You’d get it, if you read “The Hobbit” book)”. lol
Haha awesome! Precious was the name I sent in, inspired by this: http://awlsthicket.blogspot.com/2008/07/dear-friends.html
Does this mark the end of the “Name that Pet”!
Now we can all spam Pet-o-licious Namerator as a reply :)
Nope! Name That Pet fills a different role, I think — a much less quick and convenient role. *grin* But I fully encourage everyone to suggest their favorite Name That Pet suggestions to the Namerator. Maybe I can even figure out a way to do some of that automatically.
Hah. I’ve been naming my ravagers Cuddles since the expansion came out, thats hilarious
Thanks for the mention Mania! If it makes you feel any better, adding the names people submit is a very manual process. Especially when there’s about 200 submissions waiting for you in your mail box…*sighs deeply and gets cracking on it*
