Community Round-Up: Exotic Videos & Non-Pet Arcana

It’s Tuesday and we’ve got a small hurricane (or at least a tropical storm) due later today, so this seems like a great time to clean out some more of the interesting links I’ve been accumulating.

Nobbie from World of War.de let me know that they’ve got a cool beta video up. (You can also download it as a WMV.) Nobbie writes:

What makes this video interesting for hunters is a Draenei huntress with her exotic Jormungar tank pet (both level 73, huntress about Tier 4 level equipped), which can be seen in most scenes. As you may know, Zul’Drak (and Drak’Tharon Keep) are for level 74-77 characters, and even though the huntress and her companion are just 73, the new pet performs very well throughout the whole zone, tanking up to four level 76-77 enemies at the same time without severe problems.

The infamous BRK also has some more exotic videos up, including one featuring a sexy silithid.

Incidentally, I’m not the only one in over my head trying to keep up with this beta thing!

  • El of El’s Extreme Anglin’ put together a great WotLK Fishing Preview, plus the beginnings of a whole new Inscription guide.
  • Kaliope of the Crafter’s Tome is doing a great job staying on top of new recipes in the beta. Most recently she added a bunch of beta tailoring recipes. (I have a soft spot for tailoring. Don’t ask.)
  • Breanni at Warcraft Pets has her hands full — really full! She’s even looking for some help right now. I was happy to be able to contribute a tiny piece of info a couple weeks ago, but I have to say that I am impressed with how well she keeps her site and community running smoothly.

[edit] Just hours after I posted this, WoW Insider posted an interview with Breanni! Talk about timing. :> [end edit]

And finally, the obligatory Warcraft and Other Hooha link. This week I wanted to spotlight a really useful article by batgrl about Taking Screenshots in Warcraft: Some (Hopefully) Helpful Tips. Excellent stuff — check it out!

    Great stuff Mania

I like El’s site a lot.I’ve used it to grind several chars through both cooking and fishing simultaneously. Very handy. And seeing the WoLK stuff is encouraging.

Essentially I train all my chars up in cooking and fishing. the dailies in Outlands are easy, quick, and provide some nice rewards – the +15 stam Eye of the Sea is fairly often (my horde orc hunter has picked up no less than 5), and always the elusive 2 ring.

    These are some good links

Wow that silithid is more twitchy than a spider. But it just makes it look cute! I definetely want one now.

    Great links here.

Nothing insulting meant to BRK, but those mountain gron are easy kills. I’ve been killing them with a wolf on live since I was level 66. For a more challenging but not impossible elite he should have tried one of the demons in Netherstorm, preferbly the one you fight for the crystal at the end of the triangulation point series of quests.

    Aw, thanks, Mania!
If anyone has any advise or helpful links to pass on for screenshot tips, please feel free to let me know.

Meanwhile I am loving those links, especially that one on Inscription!
I am now readying myself to be chased by silithids in bg! (Oh well, I like an interesting death!)
