Name That Pet: Tedorus’ Boar

Tedorus & BoarFinal Name: Ironsides

Today we have a special treat! A dwarf hunter named Tedorus sent me not just a normal name request, but a lovely photo collage!

You really need to see these pictures at full size, so click on the small version on the right to see the full-sized collage.

And in case anyone is having difficulty with the text on the collage, I’ll repeat what Tedorus wrote on the collage.

Tedorus says:

This here is my boar. I’m Tedorus, the dwarf next to him. However I can’t find a fitting name for my boar. I really like combo-names, like Silverpaw (my cat) and Bluetooth (my snake).

Tedorus is a smart but lazy dwarf who likes to hunt on wild animals or frosttrolls. He loves the nature and the silence, he also fishes a lot and he can be a good cook. His boar is very loyal to him and he’s almost always hungry, his favourite thing to do is to go for a swim in the nearby Iceflow Lake.

  1. Well, I’ll set out a lil’ assortment of ideas for ‘mashed’ names that I hope will help ^_^

    Prefixes:
    Iron, Steel, Stone, Frost, …
    Suffixes:
Hide, Spine, Flank, Pig/Swine/etc, Tusk, Snout, …

Comes up with things like StoneTusk, IronSnout, FrostFlank, whatever you manage (and not just limited to the above) =D

    Again, hope this helps!

  2. I named mine Battleham i like the armor so I think it fits him be my guest if you would like to use it I have had my battleham since I could tame him and he has served me well =)

  3. Mine is named Baldric, from the Black Adder TV show.

Best boars in the game. I painstakingly got mine when I was 70 and leveled him up into a charging, killing machine.

My favorite pig name is Truffle. I also think Spam is a cute name for a pig.

  4. I have a pet pot belly pig and I named him Fluffy. Also, it was the name of Cartman’s pot belly pig on South Park. doesn’t fit the “two word” name scheme you have going, but I like Fluffy.

  5. Hungryham

Just ’cause I’m a lazy hunter, I like my cat(Rak’Shiri)and my owl “WindDeath”. Cat’s named just forgot it for the moment.

  6. Battlegore, Razormane, Steeltusk

    Or maybe “Glutton”, hehe.

Ironhide is good, if it’s not blocked due to copyright :)

  7. Battlebacon
    Sherman
    McPorkey
    Obelix
or like your other pets, Blackhoof, Platetusk, Panzerpork, Konigpiggy (after the WWII german tank, konigtiger).

My own boar is named Behemoth.

  8. My suggestions for combo names are;

    - Baconshanks (This is my one “silly” suggestion. >.>)
    - Blitzhoof
    - Bristleback
    - Ebonhoof
    - Flyswatter (Cause ya know… his tail and what not… yeah…)
    - Hambuckle (I have no idea where I got that one.)
    - Ironsnout
    - Ivorytusk
    - Steelhock

    @ Niabi

You know, I like the name “Eisenschweine” quite a bit. I’m planning on making a Dwarven huntress with a Germanic naming scheme. If you don’t mind, could I possibly use that? :)

  9. HogginDazs ( A little spin-off of Häagen-Dazs :] )
Saw someone running around with their pet named that, and I just love that name to pieces.

  10. @ Kettu, I am so happy you liked one of my suggestions :-) Take it, it’s yours.

@ Lucasta, Thank you for clarifying the interpretation of the spelling — I used an online translator by typing in the words “Iron” and “Swine” and the result of which is what you see in my earlier post.

  11. Isn’t a Bluetooth a phone? Just a thought :P
I do like Ironhide, but I don’t however like to refer to the pig as bacon, ham, or pork, because I wouldn’t want him to live in fear of being my next meal… lol
I think his name should be ICEFLOW, after the lake he likes to swim in.
    I did my best ^__^

  12. also if you plan to raid and use that pet to do it at 70 name him after yourself cause some bad damage meters mold ur pet and u if its named after yourself, and it helpes in arenas.

  13. Thanks everyone! I love those names you made for my boar. I especially like the names like Ironsides, Baldric, Platetusk, Iceflow and the suggestions of Ankihe. I liked the “snout and belly” suggestions aswell but I don’t think I’ll name my pet after a piece of meat ;P. I’m gonna think about this and post my decision tomorrow. Thanks everyone!
