Name That Pet: Crimsontusk’s Teal Tiger
Crimsontusk, a troll hunter, sent me this eloquent plea for help naming his new cat, Rak’Shiri.
“I hunted her for days, crouched on a frozen hillside surrounded by a pride of cats that could easily dispatch me. I was beginning to grow weary of the Hunt and thought more than once that some things just aren’t meant to be.
It was early, the sun just starting to rise as dawn was almost upon me. I awoke as I had so often before to survey the surrounding landscape in hopes of finding her tracks, spore, anything. I saw a flash through the trees and thought I was finally caught by the great felines that roamed these hills.
As I turned to face my destiny I almost dropped my bow. It was her. She stood there staring at me … the curiosity that is renowned of her kind plain on her face, and in her movements. When I started to speak she drew forward at the sound, and I told her of far off places and strange new things. I tantalized her mind and stroked her curiosity until finally she agreed to join me on my travels and share in my adventures.”
I recently caught Rak’Shiri. However after all the trouble and time, after all the excitement and fear I wouldn’t get to her before someone killed her to get a green drop, I have no idea what to name her. I could really use some help. Normally I have no trouble naming my pets but she is such a beautiful cat I cannot think of something that fits. Can you help me out, please?
We’ll do what we can!

Those cat’s always reminds me of Battlecat from He-man. lol But for a cat like that, depending on what type of names you like, you could go with something like misty, stormshadow, nightstalker, akuma, nala, stryker, etc.
Havethepower
Battlecat
Cringer
maybe any of those?
it kinda reminds me of blueberry cream hard candy
but if he rps ” cream saber” isnt a good name
what is ” tiger” in troll i wonder
Tourmaline
Rimefire
Gleam
Jade
Elusive
I recently aquired a tiger from ZG after a guild mate pointed out that my bat’s wings can interfere with targeting. I named her Kasumi which is Japanese for “mist”. Thought it was a pretty name for such a graceful beast.
Aqua
Crystal
Jade (already mentioned)
Crystalfang sounds pretty cool too, personally (Crimsontusk and Crystalfang).
She already has a name!
If you had tamed some random, nameless frostsaber that would be one thing. But you befriended Rak’Shiri. You would dishonor her to presume to change her name.
“As I turned to face my destiny I almost dropped my bow. It was her. She stood there staring at me …”
Her name is Destiny .
for a cat as beautiful as that, u should name her Hekate,a greek goddess asociated with the night, the moon, spirits and among other birth
among “others” sorry my mistake
Well, a good name for a cat such as that would be: Sapphire, Hope, Angel, Angelica, Snow, and/or Sierra.
Well i was in the same boat as you trying to find a name for that beautiful beast.
a friend came up with
Arisha
which i took instantly
Frostfang or Rak’shiri =3
I like keeping rare names… if you want to personalize, why not MyRak’Shiri?
Or…
[something]tusk – i.e. Frosttusk, Coldtusk, etc.
Or…
Coldclaws
Icydeath
TundraTeeth
Nice cat!
I second the suggestion of Fatman, Destiny makes an awesome name!
You could also go the George McFly route and use Density. LOL
I once tamed Rak’Shiri, and named her “Aquamarine” after the jem which has a colour similar to her pelt. Unfortunatly, I don’t think the name “Jade” works, because when I tried to name her that, it went back to the thrilling name of “Cat”.>.>
Here’s a couple other names:
•Astraea – A star in Greek mythology
•Sevati – White rose (Okay, she isn’t white, but it’s still a pretty name ^_^)
•Aislinn – Vision, dream
•Artemis – Protector of wildlife and the young. The huntress for the Greek gods. Associated with the moon.
•Lumi – Means snow
•Akitla – Snow falling on water
Good Luck!
Since those cats always look a little like they are glowing…what about Lumina??
Maybe Saphiretooth to go with your Crimsontusk?
Maybe Frostclaw, or Frostblade?
You could also keep her name, Rak’Shiri, or you could make a pun on what the pet is but not really using her name. For instance, when I tamed Arikara, I called her “Vengeance” – this was the tag below her name. I don’t know what pun you could make with this beautiful saber though.
Helkaen = Icy one
Dinaen = Silent one
Gayaen = Fearful one
Astalden = Valiant one
Aratoamin = My champion
Voronwen = Loyal one
Amatyelka = Agility
Amahandasse = Cunning
Yenearsira = Winter Solstice
Remember when I got my Ghost Saber pet, didn’t know what to name it, so a friend suggested Ghostclaw, since, well, it was a ghost and it had claws. A ghost that still requires food is a bit strange, but it was and still is a great pet.
I like Aquatusk or Tealtusk,
especially Destiny. It completely fits your story.
Good luck naming!! ^__^
Rak’shiri is the perfect name for this beauty…
Actually I really like Destiny myself.
When I saw the pic the first thing that came to mind was precious stones, such as Saphire or Diamond, as they kind of fit the ice theme of the cat. Or perhaps Titania, after titanium, which has a blue tint.
Choose first part of name:
Aqua
Crystal
Jade
Ice
Silent
Winter
Frost
Cold
Tundra
Choose second part of name:
Tooth
Fang
Tusk
Claw
Bite
Tail
Blade
Death
One
Everything you need to make the perfect name. Substitute your own if you don’t like one of the categories, even.
well from your story about taming her i would go with either Dusk or Twilight
Well, since blue is the color of water, you could go with Marissa, which comes from the latin mare meaning sea.
I like that someone mentioned Hecate…she happens to be the goddess of all witchcraft as well.
i have to agree Rakshiri is just a proper name for her
having tamed one of the purple pride lords myself and in a state of writers block i used a friends name heh.
Michelle
and upon getting a ravager that has since been released i stole some NPC names
Noraani a gnome vendor in Zangarmarsh just seemed to work for her
I got it. Name her Roma.
Frostbite
KoolKat
Catastrophy, Catatonic, etc (always has to be in there for the cats!)
Cobalt
Tealy
Roary
KitKat
Medusa
I have Rak’Shiri! He’s my best friend ^^..He leveled with my hunter from 57 all the way to 70+ and I wouldn’t trade him for any other animal. I named him Avalanche cause he’s from the frozen north and hits hard and fast. Usually something icey works..like Glacier..or something like that =P..happy hunting!
Perhaps, SubZero if you’re into something like that.
or PretyKity (im not sure if PrettyKitty would fit)
or Azure or Frost or Phrost or Raziel
It’s “Kitty Pride”.
Quite simple, isn’t it? :)
I third Destiny, I always liked that name..
I see a ton of “Shiri” or “Rakshiri”‘s out there, wouldn’t your pet like a unique name? After all, she will never forget her old life of stalking the icy hills, but her new life -full of adventure and new places- is more glorious than her old. She needs, deserves, a name that is different but just as pretty.
Saying that,
Frostrunner
Silverice
Silverclaw
Winterstripe
Winter
Frost
Ice
Pretty cat!
She comes from the North perhaps (Norwegian?)
She clearly was “Destined” to be yours.
“Skjebne” is the Norwegian word for Destiny
I have a cat like this on my Draenei hunter, she just caught her too, I named her Geisha although I don’t know why :P I think it just suited her innocent beauty.
But, I totally second Petlover’s idea of Mist though, I wish I would have named mine that!!
Named mine Samurai.
Although technically she isn’t Rak’shiri, she is actually Shy’Rotam, but they look alike.
Wow guys thanks =) I liked quite a few of the suggestions and was huming and hawing between a few when a friend of mine pointed out that my Gorilla is named “Confatalis” which means “Bound by the same fate” and “Destiny” fits so perfectly with it, and my story that that decided it for me. Thanks for all the help =)
Oooo Confatalis is a great name.
Rak’shiri is a male blueaqua tiger. Not female. The female blueaqua tiger is Shy-Rotam.
I picked the name Fatale for Shy-Rotam… i thought it looked cool :)
i tamed shy-rotam back when i was level 60, and named her sekayu, in memory of the tiger that had died at the atlanta zoo
