Name That Pet: Lunania’s Warp Stalker

Lunania and Warp StalkerFinal Name: Magitail

I don’t think we’ve had a Name That Pet request for a warp stalker before, which is odd considering how much personality these little guys have. So today we welcome our inaugural warp stalker request from a Blood Elf hunter called Lunania.

Lunania writes:

For a while now I knew I’d have both a wolf and a cat on my Blood Elf Hunter: a cat for good DPS and a wolf for Furious Howl. However I always stared blankly at the one empty stable slot. I had thoughts of bird or maybe a ravager, but neither seemed to appeal to me. So I asked my guild mates for opinions and many of them said warp stalkers were nice PvP pets and awesome overall.

So I hobbled up Blackwind Valley and tamed a level 70 warp stalker who seems to have captured my heart. However I can’t seem to think of a name! I like compound names. My other two pets are Shadowflame, formerly Humar (cat), and Runefang, formerly a Blood Maul Battle Worg (wolf). Those two are males and this stalker is a female.

I’m not on an RP realm, but I do have some lore behind my character. She is a Bounty Hunter. I had planned on having this pet calm and such. I’d like to see some suggestions too! Thanks!

Well, we’ll see what we can do!

  1. Two-part? Hmmm…
    Herethere
    Spinetail
Riverstripe (cause the blue stripes look like rivers^^)
    Arcaneclaw
    Arcane____ something with Arcane…
    Magitail

Cute pet, they have funny faces :>

  2. Blip is good. I named my old one BAMF after the sound Nightcrawler from the X-Men makes when he teleports.

But for a compound name, ending it with -warp would work well. A bit like Skywarp from Transformers, although don’t pick that, he can’t fly, and Landwarp is silly.

  3. I had a couple of different warp stalkers in my time. I had a white one named CandyCane (white with stripes, why not?) and a green one from netherstorm named Watermelon.

  4. Wow, I’m looking for a name for my Warp Stalker too. Some of the suggestions here are pretty cool, but I want a special name for my fellow companion in hunting down horde…hehe.

  5. I have one I named Lizzy whom i am verry atached to considering I have two other pets that seam to be of more use than her. But I still get her out and take her for a run from time to time. Hmmm now I want to go get her out…….maybe if I re-traned her she would be more usefull. Just cant bring myself to set her free, even when I do come across a new pet that is to DIE for. I am hopein and prayin that the WOTLK gives us more pet slots….if not…consider me screwed side ways.

  6. Oh yeah I also hope that they fix her silly spikes on her back. I like the way they lay down when she walks. I can usderstand them coming up when she fights but when she is stading still or running it would make more sense if they layed down. Oh well I still love her any way.

  7. I like skywarp to go with the blue eyes and the fact that they warp into battle.
    WarpClaw
    ThornWarp
    SaphireChaser
    hmm this is tough.

  8. Nowyouseeme

That’s what I named my Warp Stalker when I had him. Their great pets, but I wound up releasing him back into the wild cause I missed my piggy (Excaliboar) too much :)

  9. Although completely out of character for me, I named old warpstalker Kato, after the asian sidekick in Pink Panther. Fits well because warpstalker is great for surprise attacks.

  10. “Lunania here!

Thank you all for the great suggestions. I have talked it over with my mage lover Zyrcon, Shadowflame and Runefang. We had chosen the name Magitail for her, Magi for short and she seems to truely love the name. Thank you all.”

(Oh and I big thanks to Mania for this too. ;D Thanks you all!)

  11. I’ve always thought Glaurung was the perfect name for these guys. In Tolkien’s world he was the first dragon. He was the most powerful dragon, second largest, and one of the wingless.

The other named dragons in Tolkien’s world include:
Ancalagon: the largest dragon to have ever lived
Scatha: very little is told about him
Smaug: The last great dragon of Middle-earth

  12. A reference to that cheat in Warcraft 3 that allowed you to build and train faster…

    Warpten. Hehe.
