Leaked WotLK Info

Now that the Wrath of the Lich King Friends & Family Alpha Test is underway, we’re beginning to see quantities of leaked alpha information, either from alpha participants who are edging around their NDAs or from non-participants who managed to get their hands on the client files.

A quick tour of the usual websites this morning turned up a large quantity of very exciting WotLK info. I even had some juicy tidbits e-mailed to me directly. And this leaves me with a nasty dilemma: You know how much I love to share info, but I want to stay on Blizzard’s good side in the hope of getting into the alpha — or at least the beta — myself.

So I won’t be posting leaked alpha info here at this point. I will, however, happily collect anything you’d like to share with me for immediate posting as soon as the NDA comes down.

(And if anyone from Blizzard happens to read this, I am more than willing to be your friend — or even family! — in exchange for an alpha key. I am very trustworthy. *grin* Plus, I can probably get you into the next SOE alpha if that sounds interesting … )

Glad to be of help in letting you collect Mania, Hope you get a beta key, that’d be pretty sweet. Though even if not, I’d love to see what others have found =D

I’ve been seeing some of these files myself laying around on various sites. Sounds like they’ll be taking them down soon though. nice to have on hand just in case though.
I’m waiting to see some of the newer Hunter info and spells especially.

Death Knights are going to be disgustingly OP. In fact, my theory is that Blizztard is making a class so OP that it will take away the “OP Cries” focus away from Warlocks & Hunters. LOL

How does one get become a beta tester? Do you have to be known by Blizzard people or do they do random drawings for that honor? I have no chance of ever being an alpha tester, but if the beta is open to applicants, I’d love to get my chance (along with every other WoW player, yes I know :P ).

Yvelle: Last year there were a number of different ways. I got my beta key by participating in a leveling race on the test realm. They also gave out keys at BlizzCon, I believe. (And they may have done that last BlizzCon for the next beta also. I wasn’t able to go and I’m not certain offhand.) And I seem to remember that they also picked people at random also. Perhaps someone who remembers better than I do can fill in more. :>

Some people got applications for beta because of where they worked as well, there were a lot of Best Buy employees in the BC beta.

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/misc/beta-signup.html – off the main wow site.

… how does one get one of those codes?? :o)

Death Knight is going to be so OP. My friend and I were joking that it’ll be the new “Hunter” class in the sense that it will become more then 12% of the population on average per realm, and there’s probably gonna be a million people with no idea whats going on lol

I’ll be one of them because I cannot wait for DK

I think that DKs only look OPed now because we’re comparing their level 80 abilities to our level 70 abilities…

I’m hoping the 51 point BM talent is either two pets(!) or The Beast Without (basically the Beast Within buff on all party members)

My friend just started his first day at SOE today.

Also – I am trying desperately not to read too much about Wrath. I think entering it without knowing everything might be fun.

Thank you for the answers on the Beta testing!

Sara: I’d love to get a code too. :) But it sure doesn’t give much info, does it?

Death knights will probably have a weakness like a paladin and have no long range attacks.

  14. Ryno - May 21st, 2008 @ 11:23 pm UTC

No ranged attacks? Can you say kiting? Hehe… *evil twinkle in his eye*

Well i have searched through the alpha, i can confirm that there are new pet models, an arctic condor, a saberworg, and eagles seems to play a role in the expansion, so maybe we will tame them?

  16. Reese - May 22nd, 2008 @ 12:13 am UTC

Don’t try to get into the Beta the alpha is way gone and the beta is quarter way done wich means no more invites and no more requests. about 100 or so people are in the beta right now no more are going to join. But I hear that There is a tamable undead wolf in the instance tha Arthas is in that you can tame.

JK about the wolf but that would be awesome!

  17. Reese - May 22nd, 2008 @ 12:16 am UTC

Oh and once you reach lvl 55 you automaticly unlock the DK (Death Knight) but you can only have one per realm. That is blizz’s way of evening it out lol :) Blizz doesn’t have very good evening out skillz lol ;P

  18. Gurluas - May 22nd, 2008 @ 12:41 am UTC

I still love the saberworg and arctic condor look,

Three links. Been collecting all the info i could find. I don’t have the client as i suspect there’s some keyloggers out there to that purpose as well.
