Thornfang Ravagers: Smiling on the Inside
Did you know that Thornfang Ravagers, those glowing-eyed, spiky killing machines, are actually hiding happy-go-lucky, smiling clown faces?
Deathbang from Lightbringer (US) sent in this little snippet. He says:
Thornfang Ravagers have a face on their back! It has two spots that resemble eyes, a spike that looks like a long nose, and an indentation that looks like a mouth!
In fact all ravagers have the spot and smile but only three have the nose-like projection (Quillfang and Razorfang being the others and having hardly visible [eye] spots).
I found this to be very interesting and created a very unique and silly pet. I thought other hunters might like to know about it as this should be looked at when taming a new pet.
You can click the picture above for a closer look, which shows the face even more clearly. (Of course, you can also see this ‘face’ as a terrifying clown-mask straight out of nightmare, which frankly is what I usually see when I look at clowns.) It’s especially creepy to watch the face as the ravager idles — it bobs happily and tilts from side to side, grinning away.

Scary O.o
I, to, hate and am a bit scared of clowns. They.. Bother me.
Nice find, I wonder if it is just a random animation that happens to look like that or if it’s intentional from a funny Blizz worker?

There are quite a few animal in nature (i..e, real-life :P) that have similar features, the ‘eyes in the back of their heads’. Supposibly a defense mechanism to help prevent predators from thinking they can just walk up behind them.
Other animals have fake eyes and such to help them look bigger…
Course, who knows if the artist had this in mind when skinning these ?!?!

“Clowns don’t like tangelos, it messes with their equalibrium.”
“They will DESTROY US ALL!”
I just had to. I’m a kid at heart, I still watch cartoons.

Hmm this must mean they are really smiling inside.

I have to say that my ravager is long gone now. A friend of mine had suddenly started laughing at my new fierce pet. When I realized what was wrong. It honestly annoyed me that he had the silly grin so I got rid of him. Ironically this discovery made me dislike my new pet!

I don’t have a Ravager. Well, I do, but I haven’t worked on that character in ages. I’ve been working on my Dragonhawk and Serpent. That, and arguing rather a lot with a single given hunter in my guild who’s adamant about which pets are the absolute best.
I’m starting to doubt a lot of things that are accepted about the pets.

Hahaha, nice little find there. =P
Makes me want a ravager again, despite the fact that I’m absolutely terrified of clowns.

Or..check out the smaller, lower spike, and the ridge below that. Its mouth could be hanging open with a long tongue lolling out! Going even further down(to what might be its ass XD), we have one of those weird goatees. *snerk*
