We’ve always thought you were crazy :p

Varsar’s right, it doesn’t really all that much though.

Oh yes, I know. I was mostly just impressed that someone (multiple someones, in fact) re-tested the skillup formula right after the patch.

I’m also impressed that they did, and a bit worried. I thought it was bad me having a pen and paper by my computer jotting down my Dragonhawk’s (and now Serpent’s)change in skill damage each time they level up. Or worse, me going nuts trying to sort out the Caster Pet Spell Crit values. What’s bad is, I’m horrible at math.

You mean I am not the only one that computes my pets skills, and stats each level? :o)

I am not sure, as I just noticed this, but has the rules for green mobs changed?
I have a lvl 22 BE hunter I started playing again after taking a 6 month break as my hubby delted his BE Mage. We decided she HAD to have a snow leopard from Dun Morogh (thank you for the hint on ghost travel, worked worked like a charm). We named him Kharanos :o). I saw about 3 Ghost Sabers running around, and thought a snow leapard would be more unique. She had Echeyakee, who I won’t give up either, as the white lion is something my NE Hunter never got, even at lvl 60. Anyway, I was trying to help my hubbys new mage, who was a 12, and we were fighting lvl 14+ mobs and up finally, and everything under lvl 16 mobs were grey, I thought the green ratio was 8-9 below your own level? this was only 6. Needless to say, hubbys Mage is a 14, my hunter is a 23, and Kharanos is a 16. He still needs to catch up, but 8 levels in 2 hours was enough for me for a day.

How did this thread go from a post about changes in fishing to a discussion about pet stats and mob changes? LOL

    Now back to fishing… :-)

The change to Sylmyr Lake really freaked me out the first time I tried to fish it after the patch. What? I need a bauble now? ZOMG!

I’ve also noticed that I now need a bauble to fish the pure-water spots from the lake in the Elemental Plateau.

I fished on the Isle of Quel’Danas and caught some Luminous Bluetail which restores 455-585 mana (instantly), which seemed cool until I realied that it put your hefty Super Mana Pots on cooldown. WTF? Hmmmm… 500 mana or, 3200 MANA? LOL

Here’s a fishing-related tip: Before fishing or buying Crawdads in the AH, I search for “Huge Spotted Feltail” because I can cook “Fisherman’s Feast” which produces (6) 30-Stam/Spirit foods, just like the Spicy Crawdads which are only 1 for 1 (You cook one, you get one). Yesterday, I found 8 of them in the AH ranging from 10 to 35 silver each, that is 48 30-stam foods. On the other hand, Spicy Crawdads sell for about 25-40g/ stack of 20. See how much money I saved. :-)

I am so sorry, I didn’t realize I was still on that topic. Sorry for the wrong subject matter.

    Please delete that Mania.

Don’t worry, Améwen — it was never really about fishing.

I think the number of levels that an enemy is green to you changes as you level. It doesn’t make as much sense for it to be a full 8-9 levels when you are level 8, for instance.

    Améwen-

I’ve been doing the damage and spell crit rates because I became curious about the viability of caster pets. Oddly enough, it seems to make a slight difference in only one case- Wind Serpents. The other pets don’t have skills that are actually capable of having critical hits. Serpent’s poison spit levels with the pet. At lvl 15, Rank 1 is 25 damage over ten seconds. At level 16 it’s 25-30, at lvl 20 it goes over to 30, then at lvl 21 it goes over to 30-35. It also gets a boost from the Spell Bonus (based on Ranged Attack Power). Poison Spit and Fire Breath are the only two skills that level up this way, and Poison Spit, Fire Breath, Lightning Breath and Scorpid Poison all get that bonus (or part of it).

As for going off topic, it happens. Especially when it’s a kind of cut and dry subject. I have seen a larger number of changes that have been made too. Sylvana’s voice has been altered, as have the voices of the female human characters.
