The Public Test Realms continue to update at a frantic pace, but this last update (just today) brought some interesting changes for hunters. In addition to the previous hunter patch notes, we also now have the following two notes:
Hunter
That’s a solid “Yay!” from me on both of those!
Airi, a level 70 Dwarven Beast Mastery Hunter on the realm of Drenden, e-mailed me last week. He’d like some help naming his new wind serpent. (And isn’t Airi an excellent name for a wind serpent owner?)

When we last left Kaet I was slowly, oh so slowly, picking up the scattered threads of her life again. Since then, I’ve power-leveled her to level 50, more or less against my will.
Wait a second!, you exclaim. How can you level against your will? Well, as I mentioned in my last Kaet post, I am not shy about taking breaks from active playing if I’m just not into it. And I never force myself to play … well, not unless I have a very good reason. *grin*
No, I didn’t give in and make another alt. Roderick — or Stabby, or whatever my husband eventually decides to name him — is a real-life addition to our household. He’s a hedgehog.
I wanted a picture to put here, but 1) he’s very shy and hasn’t come out of his little box yet, 2) when you look in the box, all you can see is some spines, and 3) we’ve mostly been asleep since we got home from picking him up.
I haven’t been writing much about the 2.4.0 Public Test Realm, because:
But if you have a wider range of interests than my admittedly narrow and provincial focus on hunter pets, then you may find some of these changes fascinating. I’ve been using WoW Insider for most of my news, and they seem to be using MMO Champion for most of theirs — so much so that I’ve added MMO Champion to my feed reader as well.
[Edit: I should probably at least mention that Blizzard has opened up an Arena TTR (Tournament Test Realm) where all PvE content is turned off and everyone gets free level 70s to bash each other with. It has its very own forum, even.]
