I have been sitting in one semester of PHP and it reminds me alot of C++ only since its web based, I find it alot more entertaining and engaging. Although we're both primarily C++ programmers, he started picking up PHP contracts because ... well, because they're be more fun. :> It's not uncommon for someone to contact him because they need emergency repairs to their games' high score site, and they need it in the next four hours. Or, as we were doing last night, they need an entire site with all it's funky (and buggy) community features re-written in a week. (I mostly handle the CSS and some PHP debugging. I'm doing more PHP as he branches out into SQL.) That combination of short and urgent doesn't occur so much with the C++ contracts, but short and urgent is perfect for us ADD types.
