Kaet: Where was I again?

It’s been a really long time since I’ve played my little dwarf hunter, Kaet. Two months or more, in fact. I was initially waiting for Patch 2.3.2 to come out with it’s faster pet leveling — Kaet was having a heck of a time keeping her three beloved crabs leveled up with her. But even after Patch 2.3.2 I have found myself disinclined to log her in.

On the one hand, I haven’t been playing any character very much. Okay, okay, so I spent an entire day grinding ogres on Mania, and another day chasing around after Coins of Ancestry. And I admit that I log in almost every day to do my two daily quests (the cooking daily and bombing eggs in Skettis, because I hate the kaliris that much.) But this is the most playing I have done for many weeks.

As an aside, this is one of the ways that I avoid burnout. Sometimes I want to play a lot, and so I play as much as I like. And then after a few days or a few weeks (or even sometimes a few months), I feel my desire to play beginning to taper off. Soon, I’m just not into it. Sometimes I quit completely for a bit; other times I just log in for dailies or auction housing and that’s it. And sometimes I find that I still want to play, I just don’t want to play like I have been — so maybe I start a new class or try some weird new project.

What I don’t do is try to keep up the intensity when I am just not feeling it — and I never, ever feel guilty for taking a break. WoW will still be there when I come back.

So anyway, here I am on Kaet again. The first problem, of course, is figuring out where I was. I seem to be hearthstoned in Booty Bay, but the only Stranglethorn Vale quest I have is red. I do have a bunch of quests in the Badlands. They mostly seem to be green, but that’s okay — I need to try to level the crabs up anyway. Frore is level 41 and Unruly, so I take him out first. Tibri is 42 and Niffis is 41.

I could just grind to get the crabs caught up to me, but instead I think I will try playing normally (that is, for me, questing) first. I have a huge block of rest experience built up that I need to get through before grinding feels worthwhile, and since I’m not certain if I am going to want to play Kaet again soon, I may just build that rest XP right back up. Anyway, I feel like questing.

So Frore and I head to the Badlands! And promptly find out that half the Badlands quests actually involve killing or talking to someone in some other place, which is rather annoying. But we do get to do several Uldaman quests that I’ve never done before (since the Uldaman entrance was recently made non-elite), and we have a nice time chasing all over the place to kill multiple gradations of earth elemental.

There are a number of other things I should probably be doing right now, but for the moment killing earth elementals is the most relaxing thing I can think of.

I feel you, I have those “What to do… Anything but WoW, it is seriously boring Atm.”
you always seem to level so fast! How many levels do you ger in one day, anyway?
(I usually level 1-1.5 levels a day at 40 if I play for about 11 hours strait. yeah, I’m slow)

I love the crabs. Never get rid of the crabs! ^.^

well it seems we are very much alike in play style and the way we go crazy at times , my latest project of the four horde hunters and a priest are going well , i wanted to try all the horde races and as many trades as possible , so that is why i chose four hunters and a priest , so far it has been just a week and the undead priest is level 10 , she will be getting a big boost over the weekend , the highest is my bloodelf hunter at 21 and the other 3 are all level 13 , trades are going well but of course eating up a lot of my spare gold , so far i have around 13g though so not so bad , i am not that sure how long i will keep the mad rush up as like you i will probably go back to just chatting with my guild and friends while playing at the auction house or something similar .

I just started my first Dwarf (Hunter) on the Exodar server and named him “Emberheart”. I will be sending a pic of him and his pet and hopefully Mania will give her readers the option of naming my pet. :-)

Btw, Mania? Hoe come you never secured “www.petopia.com” as you have with maniasarcania.com? The url belongs to no one at the moment. Just wondering. :-)

Messyah: Unfortunately, petopia.com, although not currently in use, is registered to PetCo. There was a (real-life) pet supply site named Petopia back (I believe) in the first internet bubble; PetCo bought them out and retains their domains, etc.

    That is so gay! LOL

I think all of your readers should collective write PetCo and voice their displeasure. What’s the worst that could happen” They say No? :-)

The funny thing is, your “Petopia” is far more established and reknowned than that piece of crap pet store ever was. You deserve that URL. ;-)

Oh well, at least now I know.
