Name That Pet: Styfios’ Pets
Today’s Name That Pet segment is sponsored by Styfios of Magtheridon-US, a Tauren hunter with a real problem naming his pets. He has not one, but two pets that he needs our help with today!

My first pet I want named is my cat (Sian-Rotam). I chose her because she only has two models, one is rare, and the other one requires a quest. I would want either a mythological or a silly name for her.
The second pet I want named is my warp stalker. I chose her because I needed a lvl 70 pet, and I wanted something unique and
funny. So, of course, I would want a silly name.The way I play WoW, fun comes first, gearing up comes second. I’ll spend a while just sitting in Shattrath whispering my friends. I
wouldn’t play if I wasn’t having fun. I’m not well known at all, and I like it that way. I’ve been complemented on being very good, and I’ve been called a huntard. I just play for fun, and don’t care what people say.Oh yea, and I PvP on the side.

Looks like I am the first to chime in (at the moment, anyway). Here are my suggestions…
(In order of cat/stalker)
1 - Flotsam & Jetsam
2 - Rip & Blip
3 - Lightning Claw & Thunder Lizard
4 - Cleveland & Quagmire
5 - Cutter & Timmorn
Akasha for the cat and Corona for warp stalker. =)
Name the Cat “NBoots” and name the Warp Stalker “Bamf”
Maneki, for the Japanese Maneki Neko or “Lucky Cat”, and Shunpo! Or Hirenkyaku or Sonido if you’re into slightly more obscure analogues. =P
That wonderful white and blue coat has the color of star or moonlight. I would name the cat “Luna” from the roman moon goddess, but any celestial name would work well.
For a silly name I would choose “Puff” for your warpstalker. The green scales make her perfect. I also think that the song (puff, the magic dragon) captures the bond between hunter and pet.
I like Puff I had a windserpent named Puff lol (now sadly retired) and the wind serpent could be Warpurass or Warpurazz (because of the teleport spell :P) and the kitty could be Mittens :) lol

That comment on the teleport made me think of WarpsRUs for the warp stalker… :) As for the cat, no inspiration for now! :)
If these were my pets.. I’d name the cat “Lucifer” and the Warpstalker, “Omnomnom”. If that helps any. XD

For the cat i would go with: Aqualia (it was the name of a female greek warrior)
I too like the suggestion “blip” as a silly name but I by far love the name Puff for the warp stalker…just so reminds me of Puff the magic dragon - which I used to watch on my little VHS tape 24/7 when I was a wee youngin.
For the cat I’d name her “Majestic”…or a few of these other ones I came up with…

Depending on how into cartoons you are (hence silly) you could go wiht some other duos (Cat - Stalker)

For mythological, how about Norse? Freya is a great stong Norse female goddess, she of love, beauty, magic, and death, and makes a good name for the stalker. As for the kitty, how about Skaoi the Titan goddess of snow and winter?

If you want to go Norse, you could always go with “Thor” and “Loki” - Actually, “Loki” is a good name for the Warp because he was known for being tricky.
I personally love “Bamf” for the warpstalker.
As for the cat- I like “Raksha”, which “The Jungle Books” say means “demon” (and which was the name of my Ghostpaw Alpha buddy for many, many levels). The National Zoo also has a bunch of great names for their Sumatran tigers that would fit, including Berani (courageous), Melati (jasmine) and Maharani (queen).
This name fits more with a black wolf, but I always like to think of my pets as somewhat mischievous, and I always think of that scene in Pirates of the Carribean when the (sexy) Captain Jack Sparrow is holding the girl hostage and he tells the Commodore to command his men to lower their weapons, and he shouts out “Commodore!” almost like he’s yelling at a dog.
But yeah, I vote for Flotsam and Jetsam.

for the cat… if you like Okami, you could name it Kabegami or Gekigami. or Frostfang, I named my old WS cat that.
for the warp.. something like the noise it makes when warping.. so Bamf or Poof or something like the others said. Im not very original when it comes to names right now..

Me, I’d name the warp stalker Zoomj.
Mine’s named Merkavah, but only because he’s my tank pet. ;) (Merkavah = Hebrew for Chariot = also the name of a class of Israeli tank.)
I’m surprised no one’s suggested Artemis for the cat, but that’s what I’d think of for naming a cat. (The naming of cats is a serious thing…) Actually, that makes me think–you may want to name her after one of the queens or kittens from Cats–Griddlebone was a white Persian, and there’s Demeter, Bombalurina, Grizabella, Jellylorum, Jennyanydots, Cassandra, Electra, Exotica, Tantomile, Victoria, and Jemima, as well.

When you say it aloud, you must shout it like Gene Hackman in Superman. “Miss Tessmacher!”
I had a cat that reasembled yours. Maybe, if you don’t mind a strange name, “Sorrow”? Or Felix, has a nice ring to it.
The warp stalker looks like a Stanely to me. Don’t know why.

I’m a night elf hunter, i recently acquired a Ghost Saber, and i find her beautiful, it took me a while to come up with a name, eventually i chose Twilight, it seemed like a good name, then i got to thinking and went after another, this one i named Whisper. it seems fitting for some reason. i dont know what you think, but it sounds like a beautiful name in my opinion :)

How about naming them something stupid and nothing to do with mythology/Japanese culture/ terrible Fantasy novels, etc? I’ve got a cat named Sandwich and an owl named Hotdog and do you know how many comments I get from people who like the names I chose? I don’t spend hours and hours mulling it over– I look at the crap on my desk and name my pets after whatever is there. And if you don’t like the pet’s name or get tired of it (or in my case, think of something funnier)… well, get a new one!
I just tamed Humar the Pridelord, and i cant think of a name for him ~.^ i’m not going to name him yet, until i think of something befitting of him. He’s so beautiful.
First time posting, but I frequent the blogs. I had a green warp stalker for awhile and named him “Poppers”, cuz he’d pop in and out when I would send him on a target. Alas, I no longer have him, as I have Ironjaw and a red worg named “Mulder” and “Scully” (which incedentally is cute for a duo) and a cat named “SpotToddy”. But I thought the name was cute and might fit into the silly/fun category. I liked Sedna’s suggestion of “Raksha” for the cat. Not sure why, but it seems fitting.

I have tamed the rare Rak’Shiri that looks exactly like Sian Rotam. I named him Silverfrost because he’s a rare and is found in Winterspring. On my BE hunter I tamed one of the frostsaber pridelords (the purple sabers found in Winterspring) and I named him Arctic. Not sure what to suggest for your warpstalker however, as I’m more of a cat person =)

I have Humar the Pridelord and named him Nakor(Incarnation of the God of Mischief in Raymond.E.Feist Books), a Tallstrider named Krondor, and a Ravager Named Madness if that helps
