PTR 2.3.0: Other Cool Things

What follows is a random listing of changes in Patch 2.3 on the PTR that I think are not in the patch notes (although I may have just missed them).

Classes are now color-coded in the /who window.

Objects used for quest objectives (like crates on the ground) now pulsate quite brightly in order to catch your attention.

There are a whole host of mini-map improvements and changes.

There’s a new neutral flight path in Hatchet Hills, Ghostlands (just outside of Zul’Aman). It connects to Light’s Hope Chapel and (for the Horde) Tranquillien.

There have been a number of changes to Dustwallow Marsh, as you might imagine:

  • There’s a new neutral goblin city called Mudsprocket deep in the south of Dustwallow Marsh. It has a neutral flight point that, on the Horde side at least, connects with  Brackenwall Village and Freewind Post.
  • In the far north of Dustwallow Marsh there is a new ‘evil’ Tauren area called Blackhoof Village.
  • Witch Hill is now populated with undead.
  • Defias now roam the ocean shore.

We finally have a second pet snack to go along with Sporeling Snacks: Kibler’s Bits! (Thanks to Corbenn for that news!)

And there are new pets, of course!

  1. Man! That BRK is VERY prolific! I had to click “Older posts” quite a few times to get to that one! :)
In the mean time, my 10 mo daughter discovered how to open the drawer in my desk! (She was at my lap at the time!)

  2. It’s intriguing how the landscape changes as the game goes by…
Do these Goblins and Tauren tell you they just moved in? ;)

Oh, and I guess with the Defias on the shore, it will no longer be a quiet place to fish?

  3. I agree with Jayhawk. I loved fishing along that shore, but once again, Blizzard had it put their foot in it. I mean, being a lvl 70 alchemist, it will be no big deal going to fish there. But for up and coming alchemists, it will suck.

I wonder how many of those 40 new Dustwallow quests will revolve around those newmly added Defias.

  4. Since I was on my level 70, I didn’t take any of the quests to see what the new Taurens and goblins had to say for themselves. Didn’t seem sporting. But now that I have some other characters transferred I will have to check it out.
