Minor Brewfest Tip: Brewfest Dress

Most of the Brewfest clothing — the funny hats, the regalia, the boots and slippers — is bound on pickup so that you can’t buy it with tickets on one character and then give it to another. Presumably this cuts down on alt-farming the one-time quests for tickets to outfit your main. But either because of a bug or just because Blizzard likes dresses, the Brewfest Dress is not currently bound on pickup.

So if you want to save all your tickets on your main for the mount, but you also want the dress, you can buy the dress with an alt. Personally, I wish all the clothing was un-bound — I really want a funny hat.

Mania on her new mount, a Swift Brewfest Ram!

Unfortunately, I am really sick of ram racing. But I am very pleased to announce that after six full days of logging on every 12 hours on the dot and racing rams until my knuckles bled, I am now the proud owner of a Swift Brewfest Ram! I also bought a plain old Brewfest Ram, just in case I want to go slow some days. After all that work, I felt I deserved both rams.

you were able to buy both? or did you grind 1200 tickets?
    and congrats.

You only need one ticket to open up the vendor window, where you can buy both mounts. Grats on the rams Mania!

I have to say, I’ve been a little disappointed with my Brewfest grind. It seems that no matter what, I can’t do the ram racing twice a day.

It just won’t give the quest to me a second time. Between that and the Dark Iron attacks still out of commission, it doesn’t look like I’ll be getting my ram.

    Which is a real shame.

Congrats on the Rams, Mania! Since I knew I was leaving to go on vacation Sunday, I didn’t try to do much Brewfest stuff, but I did manage to get a couple Pony Kegs.

i though grinding was a lost cause, especially for a low level (7), but just doing ram racing 2 times a day, plus the one barking a day will easily get the tickets by the 16th. except that they threw off my timing by the scheduled downtime (grrr). now I have to readjust - meaning lose one session. don’t want to pick it up immediately, as that would mean I’d have half my sessions in a time I can’t be here :) losing one to get the timing back is better ..

I did notice a slight change (or it was new to me) in the racing - when you deliver, you get a teeny bit of time added to your overall time. not a lot, 30 seconds? or so. that means you could keep on longer. can’t quite do a full loop in that 30 sec but it’s a bit more in the overall total time you can ride the goat, er ram.

I only have one character racing - mainly because I only have one gnome and canna stand those mechanical monstrosities.

Thanks Shinryu Masaki for answering my question.

Congrats, Mania! I’m looking to buy a ram too but I only have around 400 tickets so far. I will get it if it kills me though!

hmmm, just logged in and checked with the vendor that gives the ‘hand stamp’ for the rams. says that it requires lvl 40 (for the stamp). Now, I don’t know if this is an extension of the lvl 40 min requirement for riding, or if it’s a min level to get the stamp. hate to think it’s the latter - since I’ve wasted all that time, if so.

anyone get the rides or the ‘hand stamp’ for the rams under lvl 40?

The rams are cool and congrats Mania. I still want a Spectral Tiger Mount. The cards to unlock them are going anywhere from $300 to $1,000+ on eBay. Highway robbery.

    Way to go Mania! =D
I missed most of the fest (visitors) so I doubt I’ll get a ram this year… Oh well.

shibumi: When I bought the hand stamp on Mania, I got an item that started a quest. The item had a level 40 requirement to use. (The quest just had me talk to the ram seller, and after I ‘completeled’ that I could buy his rams.) So I *believe* that you can buy the stamp with a pre-40 character but you won’t be able to start the quest. And since you can’t finish the quest unless the ram seller NPC is there, I *believe* that you won’t be able to buy a ram unless you can hit 40 before the end of Brewfest.

I had been grinding tickets on two other Horde characters also (both level 20), but once I realized this I gave it up. They can finish up next year if they’ve hit 40 by then.

If you start off Brewfest by just doing the Barker quest every 12 hours, It will only take 7 days to get your mount. Sure you will end up with 560 tickets, but you just go finish the Elekk and you will have 600 tickets.

This makes it very easy for me, because when ever I do the ram racing I get DC’d because of all the other people doing it and it doesn’t let me repeat it. So in one week, just doing the Barker quest (Its not to hard IMHO), gives you or an alt a Ram.

    Mania:

as I suspected. no way that lil lvl 12 will hit 40 by the 16th. in fact, none of the chars I’ve been running in this will be anywhere close. bah. I suppose I could keep the quest until next brewfest (or whatever year it is when I have them hit 40).

thanks. I wondered about that. ::sigh:: you should be able to buy em, like you can buy regular mounts, only you can use ‘em until you train. stoopid brewfest
