PTR 2.2.0 Updated

The Public Test Realms for (what will eventually be) Patch 2.2.0 have updated to a new build again. We are slowly getting closer to Patch 2.2.0 going live (and raptors with Dash, and level 70 ravagers, oh my!). But we’re not there yet.

Once again, Eliah Hecht on WoW Insider has done the hard work for me and distilled out the changes in the patch notes to see exactly what is in this PTR update.

There are two bits of particular interest to hunters:

  • User Interface: The Hunter ability Kill Command no longer affects their current target.
  • Bug Fixes: Pets no longer follow enemies after being revived.

  1. Horribly noob question, but what exactly is “Kill Command”? There are references to it everywhere but i’ve never found a direct link to my spellbook or anything else useful I can think of… Thanks in advance!

  2. Celeglad: I had much the same reaction until I finally ran across it myself, so no worries. Kill Command is a skill that hunters can buy at level 66. Although it’s a hunter skill, it tells your pet to instantly attack for extra damage. You can only use it after you crit.

  3. It’s seem that the Scorpid Poison have been modified during the last Patch on the 2.2 PTR

    For the moment for a BM hunt with 2000AP
    Rank 4 : 22 by tick -> 110 at full stack
    Under BW : 33 by Tic -> 165 full stack

    Rank 5 : 27 by tick -> 135 Full stack
    Under BW : 40 by tick -> 200 Full stack (we are far from the 800 it could do)

    Seems like an end of a great fun time as a BM.

  4. The only point and value of the kill command is to inflict more damage on the current target. If this change is real, then it makes no sense as the kill command lasts only a few seconds and is only available after the hunter crits. No idea how the kill command can even exist if it does not work on the current target.

  5. well… if my pet is offtanking say a non-elite mob in SH where as im shooting at a separate mob, if i use kill command it uses it on ITS current target not mine. well.. it must because it doesnt take off running towards my target to attack, and theres usually a bigger then normal floating above my pets target that is kill command.

    i think it is not necessarily a game change but maybe the wording on the ability or something.

    ive also used kill command (out of habit) when im in places like AV and im shooting an archer in a tower, my pet uses it and my mana and cooldown but it doesnt actually do damage to the archer. i wish that could be fixed so it doesnt use my mana and cooldown on a wasted use like that.
