Mania’s Arcania

I’m back from my short trip through the mountains and the desert of Southern California. (Quick summary: hard to breath but pretty, then very very very hot.) I am digging my way through way too much e-mail and new blog posts (did everyone decide to post something interesting since I was gone?) but in the meantime I wanted to share something amazing with you.

Jonathon Coulton is one of my favorite musicians. He creates … well, call it geek rock, in the same vein as Ookla the Mok and They Might be Giants. Unfortunately not many people seem to know about Jonathon Coulton — when I saw him in concert in San Diego a few months back, there were perhaps 20 people in the audience (which actually made for a great listening experience). And I wouldn’t have thought that Jonathon Coulton had any link to World of Warcraft …

But it turns out that Mike Spiff Booth over at Spiffworld has made it his mission to bring the songs of Jonathon Coulton to life with videos created in the World of Warcraft. Great music plus a creative visual take makes for really great videos. Check them out!
