I also haven't made a concentrated search. Edit: Looks like the PTR patched this morning, so I'll check again when the servers are up. So, while some people could still find him, he could spend hours or longer just not spawning due to an error. So he wouldn't be "back," but rather, his spawn points/timers may be fixed. I haven't heard anything, myself. Never really concerned myself with Hawkbane, due to how commonly he is used. Hawkbane was technically never “gone,” but some of his spawn points/timers were not working correctly. Now it doesn't work at all. I have reported that bug every time I have been logged on to the PTR but as you said, maybe the fix is already waiting in the next build.
