Comic-Con Was a Bust

So Comic-Con was a bust. I somehow thought that since we’d bought tickets ahead of time, we’d be able to, you know, get in. But there was a two hour line when we got there, and after we wandered around downtime for a bit and had some lunch, it had gotten longer. *sigh*

We weren’t going to wait that long in the sun. My husband’s bald head just got over being badly sunburned and I have a bad tendency of passing out when I overheat.

So we came home instead. But I used the rest of my day wisely – getting a big update for Petopia ready to go live. So that was something. :>

I’m at Comicon too this year - just be patient, everything about this place is going to mean a line, but they’re pretty efficient and there’s not a hint of sun once you’re in the door. Things don’t kick off until 10am, but they get badges rolling at 8am, and it’s *much* less crowded, and less hot too.

Last year they had some really knowledgeable reps there - like getting a blue reply to every question you post on the forums :) And right when Burning Crusade dropped the Paladin/Shaman for opposing sides bombshell too! I haven’t had a chance to see if that’s still true this year yet.

Good luck! Too bad you don’t have a panel - I’d go to it ^_^

I feel your pain about the Comic Con lines. In my over 15 year going to comic con I have learned to get your pass as early as you can and NOT drive. Both only get worse over time.
This year, my husband and I have four day passes even though we are only going two days. We drove down (which violates my second rule) Wednesday just to get our passes. I would much rather spend 2 hours in the car then in line. Wednesday night was walk in for three and four day pass holders… at least by the time we got there.

I am sorry to hear that you didn’t get in.

If we’d been particularly excited about going we probably would have gotten up early — but we were mostly going because it was handy. I wouldn’t have minded meeting a few of the comic authors that I know, but I was more interested to see what game companies were showing up. And we did get a nice lunch downtown out of the day, so … no real loss, I suppose. :>
