Petopia: New Visual Pet Skill Calculator

Petopia has the honor of hosting a great new pet resource: a Visual Pet Skill Calculator made by Draketh of Moonglade EU. As you can see from the screenshot below, it looks quite a bit like a character talent calculator. Very stylish!

A stylish pet calculator in the style of a character talent calculator, by Draketh of Moonglade EU.

Edit: The Link to Build function is now operational, thanks to some quick work by Draketh to fix my mistake. :> Sorry about the delay!

  1. when i try to go to the visual pet skill calculator page on petopia it just shows visual pet skill calculator. Is it broken?

  2. I’m afraid I’m having the same problem as Zaklu. Judging from the screenshot it looks completely awesome. I tried with both Safari and Firefox (both on Mac) without any luck. I have Flash installed (YouTube works fine), and yes, I did turn off my ad blocker.

  3. Okay, I found a problem I had missed (well, another problem in addition to the Link to Build Button — today is just not my day) and fixed that. So if you could try again and see if you’re able to see it now?

  4. Everything works now (including shift-clicking) except link to build. I tried it in both Safari and Firefox , both on Mac, with the newest version of Flash installed.

  5. Shift-Click in embedded version does not work for me. It just increases the skill as if it was a simple click.
It does work with the direct SWF.

    XP SP2, FF 2.0.0.4, Flash 9

  6. First off, kudos! This is really nice, great visual, nice setup – Blizzard will most certainly incorporate this steal this for inclusion into the game.

But, (and you had to know there was one), it would be nice to be able to set pet level and loyalty so that the appropriate level skills can be chosen. I write software for my day job, so I’ll understand if it’s not done tomorrow

  7. Until this calculator allows you to input the level of your pet, displays the training points available at that level and displays the training point cost of each level of each skill(as the previous version did), it is vastly inferior to that version. Since I have to write down these values & refer back to them to evaluate a particular build and extrapolate different builds, by hand, it is easier to just use a pencil & paper. Just like Buzzard….err…Blizzard you have thrown out something that worked very well and replaced it with pretty pictures.
