This might be a litte off topic, but can you use blank space in your pet's name, and/or capital letters? For example "My Pet" or "MyPet" instead of "Mypet". I think I've seen pets with blank spaces and capitals in their names, but I'm not sure. (Am about to name a new pet at the moment, so it's a bit important to me, since I want to give it a proper name that looks good too...)

I just have to say I truly love the Petopia site. It has given me tons of good info. =)

I love hunters!

I'm not the most skilled hunter out there. I can't kite worth beans and I get my two frost traps mixed up 100% of the time when I need to lay the right one down. But my absolutely favorite part of the hunter is the pet. I love watching my bat or wolf tear through everything, and at level 49, my pet has main tanked every instance since VC. I get plenty of doubt from other players about the ability of my pet to tank, and it gives me a great thrill of satisfaction to prove them time and time again that my wolf or my bat can quite efficiently tank!

Hunters are great fun. When I want to be serious, get stuff done, etc, I go on my druid. But even my lowbie hunter can seriously mess with people in a way my druid just can't. I can't count the amount of 70s who ran straight into my traps or was hit by my pet's Intimidation.

Cracks me up.

I think one of the funnest things about the class is simply naming and customizing your pets. I am also extremely jealous of just how amazing Hunters are with their freeze-trap crowd controls & chain trappings. It's just amazing!

In general though, I understand your need to explore and play how you'd like. I design and used completely unconventional specs for my classes. I like to do the 'oddball' thing, and focus primarily on doing what's fun or what would fit in well with the story for my character (I play on an RP server), and if that means not having the best stats in order to have fashionable attire, or not taking certain abilities or speccing a certain way due to it being against my character to do so, then so be it. As long as you have fun, that's all that matters.

Although, I must say, try to be a little more social on an MMO, there are tons of great people out there!

Although my reasoning for playing a hunter has nothing to do with how easy or hard it is to play, I agree that it's nice having it be so open in playstyles. I also enjoy soloing (I know, I know, this is a MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER role-playing game, but sometimes it's nice to know that you don't have to rely on others to achieve your goal.)

It's nice to know that if I want to, I can be more relaxed while I play, but if there's a tough mob that I have to kill, it's also nice to have the know-how to successfully manage your skills.

Frankly, shot rotations aren't the toughest part of this class, really. The tougher parts (especially when grouping) are a combination of knowing when to turn your pet's growl on/off, when to use a trap and which one would be the best in a given situation, knowing which pet has skills that would be best in a group (or the worst - I wouldn't use firebreath in an area that CC is being used.)

There are a lot of different things you have to learn to juggle sometimes, but it's nice when you also have the option to sit back and enjoy the game without having to worry as much. =)
